Announcing the POTM for Oct. 2017.
The SkyNet POG's to be run from 10/9/17 thru 10/13/17
This a CPU only project (sadly) but it's okay because our GPU's have been working hard lately. I'd like to do it this week because there are a couple potential conflicts next week.
So clear your cache's and map some dust density, stars and galaxy's.

Keep in mind that Milkyway is a "needs good DP Floating Point" project - those with the old Tahiti AMD cards (R9 280/280x and the HD varients) and to a lesser degree Hawaii (R9 290/290x/390/390x) will ROCK this project.
Ditto early Titan models.
Then there are the serious monsters, but I dunno if anyone rocks the high-end Firepro stuff....
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

You Do Not Have to have a Graphics Card with DP "Floating Point" to run MilkyWay.
Just about any Graphics Card will run MilkyWay just fine.

Yes, all modern and semi-recent GPUs will run Milkyway - because they ALL have at least some support for DP Floating Point.
I was just pointing out that it's a project that certain older cards SHINE on because they have much better DP Floating point than most if not all current cards (other than some workstation-specific ones) do.

Should be able to run at lest 2 Per GPU and I would even test 3 on Each GPU. Thanks for that milkyway config Bill. The system with my Titan in it was just rebuilt, x58 FTW3-x5660 to a P9x79 WS -E5-1650
I kept it win7 Pro. I use it as a PVR TV movie server.
Win7 updated really fast now, remember a few months ago it was so slow and near impossible to update.
I may move more back over to win7 if W10 will not allow older drivers to be installed.
