Precision X1 not on after sleep, fans did not come on - RTX 3080 FTW3

Wanted to reach out and see if anybody else has experienced this.  My computer went into sleep mode, I came back later and woke it up.  When it came back on, X1 appeared to no longer be open in my task bar, and fans did not kick on.
I happen to be looking at CPUID HWMonitor and saw that my GPU was idling at 54c.  (I set a custom fan curve for fans to come at at 35C.)  As soon as I opened X1, because of my fan curve, my fans kicked on to 40%.  Just wondering, if X1 is not open, does it default to the 0rpm fan curve where it does not kick on unless it is 60c+?  Or do I have the potential of not noticing, kicking on a game and reaching high heat without any fans? 
 
I will test the next time I see it happen, but just reaching out to the community to see if anyone else has seen or experienced this.
I love the card EVGA!  No complaints, just reaching out.

    I have my PC always on, almost no reboots. The X1 software just randomly silently crashes few times a week even without sleep mode. Maybe you have found yet another bug.

    I can't include a link, but do a search of 'sleep and precision x1' in the 'EVGA GeForce RTX 30 Series' forum.  I have a 3090 and with PX1 active, sleep and hibernate don't work right.  If I close PX1 before entering sleep or hibernate, they work as they should.  I'm using PX1 version 1.1.1.0

    Which version should I use for 3080s (precision x1) ?
