Looking for a modular ps that will fit into a Dell Vostro 3910.
Any ideas?

Probably best to measure the dimensions of your current PSU you plan to replace and go from there. If you have a standard ATX PSU currently, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a replacement.

I actually have not received the Vostro yet.
The existing power supply in the Vostro will be a stock 180w unit, but that will be a little smaller than what I think I will need to run things like the graphics card (etc) that I want to transfer into the Vostro from my current computer that uses a 500w aftermarket ps. Just trying to look to the future requirements of the Vostro.
Was hoping that EVGA would have history of what fits into the Vostro and I can buy that one.

Welcome to the EVGA Forums & Congrats on making your first thread

Just did a basic web search: Dell, Vostro , Parts, PSU

That PSU is not much bigger than a spark plug

EVGA does Not sell any of those tiny PSU designs

---> Many itx cases have limited upgradeability ---> due to the lack of room & OEM design "features"

ASK Dell if that is an OEM only PSU design & what the size category of PSU is ---> If the wiring is Not OEM only - Dell does that sort of thing

I've looked at the Dell PS upgrades and they are very expensive and the biggest I have found is 300w.
I might have to do some slicing and dicing to the Vostro to fit in a decent PS.
Poor planning on behalf of Dell IMO.

I would just buy the Dell upgrade PSU.  Dell likes to use non-standard sizes and connectors, and by the time you are done hacking up your PC and cutting and splicing wires, you may wish you just bought the one which fits, works, and appears proper.

How much is 'very expensive'?  I saw some options which didn't seem unreasonably-priced.  Maybe I was looking at the wrong part number or something.

Poor planning on your part. Dell knows what they are doing.

Not so much that the 300w Dell PS is $200, but that it is only 300w.
