How do you know when a render is done?  I had one going for 30-40 minutes and didnt notice much of a difference when I got to about a hour.

from what I have heard here in this thread a render will never complete. It strives for perfection and won't stop it self until it get theres  but around 1 hr to 5 hrs can give you great looking results... the higher the resolution the longer the render time should be..

Where does one get the GT-R model?  I only see 6 cars and the GT-R is not one of them.

Thanks,
Eddie

In the Vehicle tab there are 7 cars and the GT-R is one of them.  They have "Porsche 911" and then Car 1 to Car 6.  I don't get why the 911 is so special and gets is own name.

How do you get to the 7th?  I tried clicking on the green arrow and nothing.

I don't know it's just there.  Maybe you should try reinstalling the garage demo.

It is quirky, but you need to click and drag the thumbnails to see the ones not on the screen (or make the window larger).  Note that this same method is true for the scene selection and vehicle color pre-sets.  Sometimes I had to try more than once to get the click and drag to work properly.

Every time I try to save an image, change scene, change car, it always ends up with the not responding. No pop up error or anything. I always have to close it out. And open it again. I have yet to save an image through design garage because this happens every time. Anyone know what the problem could be? This is with the cards in my sig.

This is what it does, the only way I can save an image is to do print screen or else it does this.

This one ran for about 7-8 hours. Yes...I know my resolution is low...but I think it still looks good.

Can't remember how long this one went. Less than an hour I know that much.

I also had issues with it not responding.  I think the program still does not play well when using two cards.  I created a profile for Design Garage and set the CUDA option to only use one card.  This slows it down unfortunately, but I have not had a problem since I did that.  On earlier drivers with two cards it would give me GPU memory exceeded messages.  It seems like on the newer drivers it just goes into "not responding."

I really wish they would work this out.  I would love to see the full potential of this program with it using both of my 480s.

Hmmm tried that didn't do anything for me. I still have the same problem. It is weird because on the default car and scene. It seems to do very good. So I don't get what the problem is.

Jacob, great shots.  Question: are you able to get it to run on more than one GPU?  So far with various drivers (now using latest WHQL) I can only get it to work properly if I limit it to one GPU.

The initial Porsche scene will render using both of my 480s, but any other scene will not work.

Yes, I was able to get it to run on multiple GPU's, the above shots were on dual 460's

Re:Post Your NVIDIA Design Garage Screenshots! 2010/07/28 23:13:16 (permalink)
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is not going to sound good but the problem for me is with EVGA precision. I spent the night running my own QA going through every running process ending one by one. And when I ended RTSS.exe design garage works great. Now this is either a problem with Precision, or Rivatuner. The process is from EVGA Precision/bundle/OSDServer. So that tells me it is a problem with rivatuner.

I have also ran some regression tests, and by closing out precision from system tray the program then works great.

It also seems to run better as well. I don't get how this could only effect me, because it is clearly what is causing my issue. I am using the latest precision as well. And I know a lot of other people are as well. Hope this helps others who are exp the same thing.

END UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!
