saturnotaku I just got my eVGA GTX 470 and wanted to try out this program. But I have a question. Is it normal to see these artifacts when the program is first starting, and do they go away with time? I've circled them on this screenshot. Thanks. I am not sure what you mean by artifacts. Maybe I am missing them, but I think you might be referring to the lack of anti-aliasing in that area. If so, yes, that will clean up over time. You are running it in non-HQ mode. In that mode, it focuses on progressively improving anti-aliasing. So, over time it should continue to improve quality and will stop at some point. When it stops, the green dot on the bottom right will go grey. Note that it only runs when the window has focus. Now, while much slower, I think you will find the real beauty of this program is in running it in HQ mode (the button in the top right corner). That is when it does ray tracing and photo-realistic lighting and reflections (you will see reflections of buildings in the shine of the car for example). At first, it will look very grainy. But, as it progressively runs it will improve. In this mode, it never stops. You will get a good image in 15 minutes or so, but it will continue to improve the longer you let it run. On my 480, I have found that 1-2 hours can produce some really nice images. If you use an angle from the interior of a car it will take a lot longer as their is much more indirect lighting. Off topic to your question, but has anyone gotten this program to run properly with two 480s? I hate having to use only one card. For a few scenes (such as the default that loads up), I can get it to run with both cards and it runs twice as fast. But, for most scenes I get memory errors unless I disable both SLI and PhysX.

Here are some more I have done recently. You can view full size (1920x1200) versions by clicking on the image. You can also view all of my shots so far on my web site at: http://jasonpanderson.com/gallery/v/design-garage/ This one rendered for a little over an hour: This internal shot ran for hours (I forgot to watch the clock but easily 4-5 hours):

I finally got around to trying this out, and here's one I whipped up real quick. Here is proof that magic hour truly is magic and can make a 3 minute render on a GTX 470 look surprisingly good.

I have a question, I have gtx 480, for some reason when I load a car in design garage and wait like 2 to 5 minutes, I can still see pixels. or do I have to wait longer

With a lower end card or larger resolution it can be as long as 10 hours. It may take a while, but it'll clear up eventually. Just be glad it's not CPU rendering. Full screen CPU renders can sometimes take up to 100 hours, even on high end CPUs...
