It a desktop, not an art gallery. It's also a pain to open up the start menu every time you want to do something or memorize macros for programs and files.
<SNIP>

To each his own...

I do feel even the slightest discomfort when I need to access a file or folder. I pin my most commonly used applications to the taskbar, and one or two extra mouse clicks to access a less used location is no inconvenience what-so-ever.

I do, however, tend to keep my files neatly organized.

I have about a bajillion desktop wallpapers, and they change every 12 hours. This is what it currently looks like.

And yes, before you ask, it kills me that I have to put my woman's files on my desktop.

LOL, strange though. I tired it with Chrome, Fire Fox, as well as IE. Cant view the image either way.

I think people forget that sometimes.

I can understand preferring minimalism.. just as long as you're not robbing yourself of functionality. How can someone get lost in a project of any kind where folders and files are getting made, edited, moved around constantly? Do they have some kind of "desktop" (commons) folder to work out of?

Functionality is more beautiful than anything to me.

Aside from that though, I'm sure many people who post their desktops do a cleaning, print screen, and then everything is back to be cluttered within a few days. lol

Oh there called tool bars!

I like how you have them separated, I'd never have my taskbar set to autohide but I might try that.

Thanks bro.

Oh there called tool bars!

I use a combination of Object Dock, Rainmeter, and pinning things to my taskbar, so I'm well aware of tool bars. I was referring to the people who have absolutely zero icons on their desktop or just a recycle bin. Either they don't do much working on their computer or it isn't like the screenshot 99% of the time.

Ended up deciding I really loved having the taskbar on the right. And yes, it is like this 24/7. Except when making something in photoshop, then I have random fonts and textures on the desktop, but they leave after I finish.
