Interesting. At least it is benign. And it completely unaffects people like me who don't use Facebook. :-P

It is good for advertisers to inflate their ratings/visibility in Facebook algorithms, but doesn't really negatively affect the Facebook user.

I don't use Facebook myself but thought it was still a good idea to create this Thread about it.

I was curious if you could expand on the false positive portion - I'm not finding any recent info about why this popped up all the sudden, other than the link above (circa 2017) and the McAfee threat intel page on the malware circa 2014:

To be transparent I made an account to get in on this thread - I had this pop up on Windows 8.1, and would be waaaay happier if I felt like I didn't have to re-image my machine to be safe

In McAfee Dat(A)  shows this as a virus and puts the file in QUARANTINE folder.
Once in there in the McAfee Quarantine Manager you can test for a False Positive but to do so you need to have the next Dat(B) file update to test. This is what I did and McAfee came back with a false positive on the files in the QUARANTINE folder.
The file addthis_widget[1].js or addthis_widget.js from 2014 and now in 2018 simply changed and McAfee flagged it as a Virus and the McAfee updated the info and corrected it in the next Dat file.
Is this what you are asking for JorgeGuatemala?
