Add me to the List for the Z590FTW
I powered up the system for the 1st time on 8/01/2021.
LED issue began in December, but no performance issues.
I also have receive the BIOS Warning Message randomly since my build in regards to that CPU, SATA mode or M.2 Settings have changed.

Last first:  Regards to that boot up message, " .........CPU, SATA mode or M.2 Settings have changed" and others noted BIOS changes.  Had same issue on Z490 and this Z590, it has come up in other forums before .... with no conclusion (none I have seen) ... however, in my case, nothing has ever 'apparently' changed as noted in the warning message... and now I just disregard.. and to date nothing appears to have EVER changed (last time was yesterday).
Regards to LED issue.  Five (5) weeks and no further response beyond ".. looking into it..." from EVGA.  I still think the LED issue is not a failed LED, but whatever is driving or transmitting the signal to it's display function.  Unless I have missed it... the keepers of the forum have not stepped in on behalf of the 30+  z590 LED complaints.

Nope. I had emailed Jacob at one point and he said he was looking into it. but no, I haven't seen any official comment from EVGA about the issue or whether or not they've fixed it on current/future builds.

I do agree as watching the LED during boot, segments light up bright and go dim or off. Its appears to be the LED driver to me.

That is possible, but I had noticed that the bad segments never turn on, and when the display is trying to turn them on, all others go dim. If the bad segment is not one of the ones intended to light up, the remaining segments are full brightness. This lines up with a shorted LED segment, which would put too much current on that channel and bog down available current for the rest of the segments. If the driver has a max current that it can't overcome and all of the current is going to a shorted LED, that would also explain what we've seen here.

In any case, it is definitely a hardware failure. I'd love to hear EVGA come out with a statement to indicate what kind or at least that they've fixed it on boards made after XX date. Clearly it isn't failing on every single board that was made and as there's no safety issue or even performance issue, I don't think that would generate any kind of recall. I'd just love to know before buying future boards that they actually figured it out.

I was googling and came across this thread. I also have two z590 FTW boards in two different computers experiencing the LED failure. One computer gets used everyday and the other just maybe a few days a week. I want to RMA it but I am so lazy and getting windows to recognize a new board sucks.

I didn't have any issues with Windows after the RMA. Just trying to get the thing out without disturbing my existing water loop or cable management was a bit tricky lol.

I have to add one thing. My LED’s started going out many months ago, but after a post I seen, letting me know I could turn off the LED’s except for post, they now work just fine (for post codes only) but they all light up correctly every time I power up the PC. May have just added some life in those LED’s by simply not having them on all the time. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I've done that with my Z590 FTW - one of the digits has a bit of fade on the top part of the '8' but is still fully readable for post codes, all good otherwise.

OH dear. Well...that's 42 reports now. Boy I hope they fixed this before they made the $629 and $829 z690 boards. Not that z590 Dark was much cheaper. The good news (for them) is that I haven't seen any reports from z690's yet.

Looking at the purchase dates makes me wonder about mine. It's currently down waiting on a new cpu cooler, so I can't look at the LEDs, but I bought my Z590 FTW on 6/9/21.

Suppose once I get it all back together I'm going to have to pay more attention to it.

Add my Z590 Dark to the tally. The top segment of the right number went out on me last night. I'm probably going to just turn them off (other than for post), but for how much this board costs, it shouldn't be happening at all.

My Z590 Dark now has the very top and very bottom segment on the '8' of the 2nd character faded, but not dead, so it's still completely readable fortunately.

I have not sparked up my Z690 Dark yet - waiting on 2 new radiators (thicker ones), and hoping the EK 3090 Ti block isn't too far off.  edit: Z690 Dark KP is good.

Dear EVGA fellow owners,
I am running the Z490 KINGPIN and i am facing the same issue not only with the debug indicator leds but also with the very important mini, power indicating, connectivity, and activity leds. I come to the conclusion that the hole Z line up suffers that led issue. To be honest i am an EVGA fanatic since the early years of the company, but there was always something ruining the reputation of such a great company, especially on motherboards. Pity because the Z line up is such a well designed and built.

It's also the new AM4 x570 boards. So it seems to have been all the boards in at least a 2-3 year period. Other than a "I'll look into this" from Jacob, I haven't heard a peep from EVGA about it. I've counted 48 boards from my tally I've kept up with on page one.

No led indicator failure at all with my 3 years old Z390 FTW... seems that it only concerns Z490/590/690 series with blue led indicators... Z390 FTW / Dark have red led indicators and aren't concerned with this terrible issue...

Can now add my Z590 FTW to the list.. this is the 3rd different model mobo I've had with this issue (other 2 were replaced under RMA, thanks EVGA). I will stop using this mobo shortly, so I'll have to RMA it too - pretty difficult to sell a motherboard when the post code display is unreadable.

I'm back again!  (add 2 more)
My Z590FTW RMA post led failure replacement from March 2022 is .... NOW ALSO repeating the POST LED failure issue!   Just reported to EVGA - June 7th 2022!
What I have not reported [yet] is the post led failure on my Z490 Black Kingp|n... because I have flipped the thermal readout so the good pair of LED's work.
A pain in the neck (really) reading upside down... for now!
Yes, EVGA definitely has a problem. I venture to guess that in reality the number of defective POST LED units is relatively, lets say, overwhelming!
Some may not know if they don't care about the BRIGHT flashing letters and numbers; or don't have a window and/or an open eye on that beautiful mother......board.

Re: POST LED Indicator failure 2022/06/13 01:59:57 (permalink)
My POST LEDs have failed as well.  Not that I really used them for much other than early temp monitoring to be sure I wasn't melting something in my build.  It's been … what, almost a year since I put it together and turned it on and so far, so good.
