Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this on their X299 Dark.  I am running the latest Bios but I have been trying to adjust my PC so that it's pretty silent at Idle but I finally nailed down this annoying sound from the case every now and then.  The PCH fan keeps blipping to high RPM then back to it's idle speed.  It's SUPER annoying.

Check the Smart Fan settings in the BIOS -> Advanced -> H/W Monitor Configuration screen..I'm guessing that may be the fan called either SYS_FAN or AUX_FAN, but there's also a PWR_FAN along with other fans.

You can add Hysteresis to the fan curve so they don't immediately ramp up and down..Or you can set them to a static/fixed speed..Refer to your Mobo Manual pages 96 to 99 for more information.

Thx for the fast reply.  This is not a Sys fan or aux fan as those are not connected. I'm running a custom water cooled system controlled by a Corsair Commander pro.  This is definitely the PCH fan that's ramping up.  I disabled the VRM fans (I believe these are labeled PWR fans in the bios) and then messed around on the internet and it could still blipped to a high RPM. HWinfo shows idle of the fan at 1740 but the blip happens so quickly that most of the time it would only show 1800 as max RPM.  It finally was able to poll a 2460 out of it though.  You can see this in the attached Image.  This does not happen on a static RPM even at 25 percent but I would like to be able for the fan to ramp up as the temps increase.  I do believe this is a strange bios issue.  I have not tested 1.18 bios nor have I tested the stock one that came on my X299 Dark.  Any help would be appreciated.
