I'm just letting you guys know that either my 750i FTW is dead or the psu is.  Still not sure what the problem is but this rig w/ my Q9550 and GTX 460 is going to be down till I can figure out what the problem is.

I've tested almost everything I can think of and it will not post.  I'll continue to see what other things I can do but this is leaning more towards the mobo being dead.  All i did was performed an Windows Update,  rebooted and that was a few hours ago.  Since then I have not been able to get this damn thing to post.

i don´t believe this, you´re using that rig for playing Cod Black Ops and BC2... tell us the truth man >:(

I have to admit........I have been playing black ops a bit BUT I'm only running one 275 to do it, everything else is running, even my 470 which is begging me to run Black Ops.
    Sorry...................

    Folding whatever I can :o)

Try a barebones setup. Pull all PCI cards including the video card and keep just one stick of memory installed. See if you hear the POST beep or not. You might also try and pull the board out of the case if it is in a case.

When you supply power, does the NB fan spin?
Does the error code display light up at all?

    If not-
then make sure you have good PSU connections to the MB.
If they look good, then more than likely your PSU died.
    Change out PSUs or benchtest
If PSU is good then your MB is shot.  LEDs will light up no matter what the problem is ... except a power issue.

You could try a volt meter if you have one. Test at one of the molex connectors and at the EPS12V connector.

You can actually test your PSU with a voltmeter, but you need to put jumpers in certain pins to simulate that it's actually connected.
I had to do this once
    http://www.duxcw.com/faq/ps/ps4.htm
you will need to have a voltmeter to test between COM and +voltage pins.

Gotta dig out the volt meter and I'll test it.  I didn't see any sign of burnt anything on the mobo.  If I missed it then I blame my $h!t old eyes.  But from looking I can't see anything wrong with the mobo.

The two digit LED display down by the battery should be flickering through POST codes as you try to boot.
Do you get anything at all on this display?
Do you have any other LEDs lit besides the blue and yellow?

Example is this pic showing "FF"

It would be the 8-pin connector. There should be four 12V leads and four GND leads.

    GND 1  5 +12V

    GND 3  7 +12V
    GND 4  8 +12V

If that connector is bad you will also get a RED LED.  ;)
But RED LED can also mean bad CPU.

But no RED LED means CPU and 8 pin connector are working.

All lights are on the Post code of ff stays and doesn't go through the test like normal boot up.

On a side note I see that you have put the memory not in its proper slots if thats a 750i mobo.

That's not my rig nor is it my pic... I swiped it from google!

You say ALL your lights are on.
    Including the red one?

So you are going to instant 'FF' if I understand, right?
(Meaning it doesn't show any other code and goes directly to FF)

FF is typically for CPU or PSU errors.
Typically... at least for a system that randomly died out of the blue.

You can pull all your RAM out, remove your GPU, and disconnect your drives and accessories and you won't get an FF (just PSU and CPU).
Well, unless your BIOS is corrupt or if your motherboard is bad.
I think you are looking forward to a new mobo

I'm about 100% sure its the mobo.  I've got it out of the case all by itself with 1 stick installed and still nothing.  This has been going on for hours without any changes so as far as I'm concerned its a paper weight.  What a waste of money,  I mean I just got it a few months ago used.  And EVGA only has the 750i sli available.

So I don't know.  Look like I'll be hitting up the marketplace to see if anyone has a used 750i FTW or 780i.

If you put in a Windows installation disc and boot, does it take you to the install window? I know this sounds kind of odd after everything, but my old 750i FTW kind of bricked itself one day. Reinstalling Windows fixed it. Last resort I guess before you go board hunting?

Problem is the the mobo won't post at all.  Thats been the issue.  I've tested everything else and it has to be the mobo.  I guess its one of those freak things that can happen.

Everything else including putting in a Windows disc? I'm telling you, this was, or nearly was the same thing I had this summer.

Why the hell not.  I haven't tried that yet.  I'll post back if it works or not.
