Well, I think it depends. For instance, an all-white GPU (like a Galax) in an all-white or even a white & black build looks great IMHO. And, let’s be honest, what’s the main thing you’re going to see, the shroud or the backplate? The backplate or course. That is, unless you have one of the few cases that support GPU vertical mounting. And, you don’t hear too many complain about black being the primary color (shroud and backplate). However, other colors may be a bit too much for my taste. For instance, an all-red or all-blue build wouldn’t be something I’d relish.

Hey guys, Here is both my new 1080i Ti FTW3 and ROG Swift ultrawide! The card is a beast and Geforce Experience suggests high to ultra for most games at 3440x1440. Using Precision XOC aggressive fan curve temps are at about 55C - 60C max gaming which isn't too bad... Fans do you get quite loud but can be drained out easily... It's the first 3 fan GPU I've owned so straight away I noticed that little bit of sag at the end, I think it's quite minimal but is anyone considering a GPU bracket? I'm surprised Precision XOC quiet profile doesn't allow the fans to turn off at idle, I thought this was pretty standard now, thoughts? P.S. I need to get a power link too.

@Infamous 801 What issues are you having with TC The Division? I'm having trouble with it also at 3440x1440 90 fps. I keep getting judders and I'm not sure if it's a GPU or CPU bottleneck. I've dropped settings back to medium and still getting judders. I'm also yet to try Watch Dogs 2 on my ultrawide.

@Graphite8five For division it's just low frame rate, average about 45 but I haven't seen any stuttering during play, I don't think it is my cpu , running a i7 4790k clocked at 4.5ghz so further testing is still necessary, a friend of mine also running SLI with founders editions and a 7700k is getting about 75fps in 4k so I'm leaning towards it being drivers, I'm not too worried about watchdogs 2 to be honest since the game is known for lower than normal frames in 4k plus I already completed the game prior to receiving these cards and am reply just using it for testing, also if anyone can let me know how to sync the lighting modes together on these cards with each other it would be great.

@Infamous_801 So I notice you're doing a white/black build which is what I have. I notice the LEDs on the FTW look a lot more blue tinted than pure white like your CPU fan. Is that intentional or is it just impossible to get pure white from RGB LEDs? I think I might get the SC black edition if the RGB LEDs can only achieve a bluish-white

@Dragynfyre It actually wasn't possible to match up the GPU and fan color from what I've tried so far but it isn't a deal breaker for me, in person the GPU LEDs that light up the side panel are actually pure white, its mostly the LEDs that are reflected through the GPU fins that are showing slightly blueish if that helps with your decision, I'm planning to replace the fans eventually with something that does patterns and rgb so things colors can be tweaked on both ends.

@Infamous_801 Thanks for the reply! I think I will probably stick with the SC Black then since I like the black shroud and smaller size as well. The elite edition FTW3 costs too much to ship to Canada.

I have the same issue with the LEDs in the fans being more blue than white on the FTW3. I have determined that it is not possible for my FTW3 to have both the logo on the side and the fans both white at the same time. See my thread here: https://forums.evga.com/1080-Ti-FTW3-LED-Issues-m2674550.aspx I also have the 1080 Ti Black Edition, and in my judgement, both the logo on the side and the LEDs behind the fans are both a fairly pure white. They are a much better match than the LEDs on the FTW3. I wish there was a way to just disable the LEDs behind the fans on the FTW3. Does anyone know if this is possible?

I also noticed the bluish white when I first powered up the Ti FTW3, the older 1070 and 1080 had a perfect white... Because I'm cycling through RGB on the Ti I'm not worried about it anymore... I also thought the LEDs near the fans looked a bit odd to begin with but I'm not so worried on that either anymore...

@Infamous_801 Yeah, The Division get's very demanding at high resolutions, I've played around with my settings and I now think I've got a pretty stable 85 fps with a mix of med/high settings.

Has anyone using PXOC seen their fps counter overshoot the their set refresh rate? I have everything set to 85hz but occasionally very briefly I see the fps counter overshoot to 100+ fps. TC The Division has the option uncap frames to 60, 120 and 144 I think, these don't suit my 85 fps so I turn it off, but I wonder if I'm actually drawing more frames than I think with this turned off?

@Graphite8five Thanks, I did a roll back of the drivers yesterday to the ones from April and it fixed the low fps I was getting in division but it didn't fix watchdogs 2 at all, not a big deal since I'm not currently playing either of those games just putting the new cards through their paces.

That's interesting, what drivers did roll back from? Is that the 381.89 drivers? That's quite far back, any particular reason you chose those ones? Were your low fps mostly in large battles with other players or just all round? I'm experiencing fps drops in large battles, I'm trying to determine whether it's graphics settings or even a CPU bottleneck, there is a lot more stuff to render on the ultrawide... But maybe it could be drivers for me also so I should try the April ones... I'm currently on the latest 382.53. I think Watch Dogs 2 has issues on a range of systems, could be optimization on their end, it is a nice looking game though. I'm yet to try it on the ultrawide with the 1080 Ti.

Was originally on 382.33 and now I'm on 381.65, a friend of mine had the same type of problem when Prey came out and suggested I try out the April drivers, brought my division frames up from 45fps to 75-80fps in 4k and so far haven't had trouble with anything else I tried out, personally while I enjoyed Watchdogs 2 the optimization is just kind of a horrible, it's doubtful there will really be updates that's gonna fix it at this point especially with all those new games they announced at E3 this week. How you liking that ultrawide btw? I was actually considering getting a x34 predator for my desk but I hear good and bad things about it like how you get bars while watching some media on the sides or top of the screen, what's your overall experience?

I'm still having some troubles with frame drops when I start maxing most settings out, funnily it's mostly the big battles in buildings with lot's of enemy's, it's very hard to find the right combination of graphic settings that allow the greatest eye candy while not dropping frames, especially since the game requires restarting to apply most graphic settings and it's easy to forget which setting you tweaked last! What do you think the issue with drivers later than 381.65 are and were they mainly affecting The Division? It's possible I could be suffering from a driver also. I haven't even tried Watch Dogs 2 on my ultrawide yet but I seemed to find a graphic setting combination that worked quite well on my old monitor. The frame drops that I still had back then seemed random and unexpected, definitely a suspicion of bad optimization. I'll probably keep playing it the way it is... Yeah, the ultrawide is awesome! Coming from a 1920x1200 24" the 3440x1440 resolution is stunning!, I bet 4K is very nice too, what monitor do you have? The screen real estate is insane, I can fit so much up on the screen it's really nice to work with, I can not imagine ever going smaller again. The FOV of the monitor is something very unique, in games with open areas like The Division the views are what I'd describe as panoramic and airy, something you'd have to see yourself... I've only had the monitor two weeks and I've mainly been fiddling around with The Division on it, I think there's only two menu type parts in The Division where it goes to a 2560x1440 or 27" size with black bars on the sides, hardly an issue as that only lasts a few seconds. Other games so far I've played are BF1 and some Crysis 3 both which run at full screen 3440x1440 and look pretty amazing, BF1 I can run at ultra 90 fps, thanks EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3! On the Windows Films and TV app most of the video previews play in a smallish box in the center of the screen, that could only be because they're previews, not sure yet. So to be honest I guess there's still a lot to discover and whether it's ultrawide compatible but apparently there's lots of ways now to get things into full screen ultrawide that previously wouldn't. I think the pluses for the ultrawide are huge screen real estate, unique FOV, ability to run high refresh rates and G-Sync works flawlessly, pretty perfect really? I'll admit though, even in my limited experience but also hearing from others that 3440x1440 is very demanding on your whole system as the wide FOV means there is heaps more being rendered on screen, so some games I imagine will put the 1080 Ti FTW3 through it's paces especially at very high settings and framerates like I'm seeing with the Division perhaps, I bet the 1080 Ti SLI would probably run circles around it though... Was it the 4K monitor you decided on over the X34? What's your impressions on 4K?

To tell you the truth i'm not sure what's up with the more current drivers and the division because once I did the roll back my frames were back up to an acceptable rate for me, i'd at least give it a shot if you aren't getting desirable frames since you really got nothing to lose by trying and you can always change back if anything and it wont take you long to do. Typically what I do for testing is if i'm not getting the type of performance I like is just turn everything to medium and just start adjusting from there, incrementally turn things up higher that way even if you gotta restart division every time to make the setting take effect you'll know exactly which setting you've changed since the baseline medium settings will stay, I'd save anti-aliasing for last to adjust since it will be likely one of the things that has one of the most significant affect on frames. As of now i'm using a Sony 4k xbr tv, it isn't ideal since my monitor for the desk is still a 1080p that's why i'm in the market right now for a new monitor, either the predator x34 or predator XB321HK would be my current 2 choices but I think it may be a better idea to wait till the fall to see the new stuff that was shown off at computex like the new 144hz 4k monitors with g-sync and HDR from acer and asus but they'll likely cost a fortune for something that's just a 27 inch though they will be on the bleeding edge for high end monitors at release, personally i'm looking for a monitor that's at least a 30+ inch so there's more screen to work with that I can use for content creation as well as gaming, sadly right now pickings are slim for large 4k monitors that check all my boxes, I even considered getting a 4k tv for the desk at one point so I could run everything natively. Considering the fact that I recently just grabbed two ftw3's it's probably a better idea to wait a bit since you know first hand nothing with g-sync comes cheap. Overall my 4k experience so far has been pretty positive aside from the fact that some things don't scale too well in windows but it can be overlooked for the better picture quality in games which is what I wanted all along, now if they only made televisions with g-sync and faster response times. For your ROG 3440x1440 if you want to reach that 100hz refresh it advertises I think there would be no other way than to go SLI since as an aspect ratio it's really tough to run.

It's been two rigs since I've used EVGA. I wanted to try other stuff after building my first rig with an EVGA GPU. I'm probably back for good. This build I just completed....It's my fourth build, and will be my first exercise in building a custom water loop sometime later this year. Everything that can be EVGA is EVGA. Specs in my sig. LOVE the case. I got it specifically for adding water. It's a big heavy beast. It's just what I wanted chassis-wise for water: hella roomy and optimized for side out viewing. Should I ditch the SC2 and getta FTW 1080 ti if I'm going on water - or no diff? I'm only now getting into OCing and having fun doing it.
