felidae99 It's been two rigs since I've used EVGA. I wanted to try other stuff after building my first rig with an EVGA GPU. I'm probably back for good. This build I just completed....It's my fourth build, and will be my first exercise in building a custom water loop sometime later this year. Everything that can be EVGA is EVGA. Specs in my sig. LOVE the case. I got it specifically for adding water. It's a big heavy beast. It's just what I wanted chassis-wise for water: hella roomy and optimized for side out viewing. Should I ditch the SC2 and getta FTW 1080 ti if I'm going on water - or no diff? I'm only now getting into OCing and having fun doing it.
all depends how much OC u wanna squeeze out of if , Classy is supposed to be coming out , KingPin also promises some super high clocks . But if you want water with ICX , GTX 1080 Ti SC2 HYBRID is your friend .

I'm gonna try a full loop with a complete housing for the 1080 ti. I'm only on air now while I get parts for the loop. I'll pull the 240mm cooler and put blocks on the CPU and GPU when everything is acquired...I'm not gonna try to cool the ram or mobo chipset. Maybe next build I'll get a formula and try it then. For learning to OC the Code is fine for me so far. Hell, on it's first auto OC it took my 7700K to a rock stable 5.1 ghz. I think I got a good chip in the lottery, though. I don't mind a little loop maintenance. <3

I think that fits too. Thx for the recommendations, the Vapor-Chamber is doing well with a modified fan curve. This is the most aesthetic card I ever had with a perfect manufacture and surface feel. I had her over 2000 MHz, without raising the powertarget. Edit:...

Finished the step up program and received my 1080Ti SC Black... Documented the send off of the old card and installation of the new, including a special guest appearance of the EVGA POWERLINK! What an adventure this has been! I never would have realized that the initial issues and subsequent trade in would thus reset the step up clock enough that I'd get this opportunity. Stoked? Oh yeah. Thanks for checking out the vid. Thanks EVGA. Thanks forum members.

Hey all. I was playing PUBG last night at stock with my stock 1080 Ti SC2 and hitting temps of 81-82C. At what point does the gpu throttle? I'm a bit worried that those temps seem high before OC. Is this normal?

Try positioned the AIO rad to the top of the case as intake and leave the front as intake for fresh cooler air for the GPU. You should see some improvements there, assuming your ambient room temps aren't too high.

I've been playing with my SC2 for a couple days now playing various games (Overwatch, BF1, PUBG, FH3, etc...) in both 1080p and 4k all at ultra settings and my card never go pass 75C after a few hours of gaming. You can run some heaven benchmark to see at which temp your card will throttle down. Do you have the fans on the AIO radiator as intake? If that is the case, that's might be the culprit as it is blowing hot air from the radiator directly onto your card.

I wonder, but in testing people have found having the rad in front makes a marginal difference to GPU temps vs the potential to heat up the CPU with open Fan designs. Esp on a large rad like the 280 I don't believe it will affect the air coming in all that much.

That video is only talking about the positioning of the radiator. He didn't discuss the pros/cons of doing intake/exhaust through the radiator. The only thing I can think of that's making your card heating up so much even though you're not playing a GPU intensive game. hopefully you'll find a solution soon though.

That's exactly what the video tests though. The top rad mount is for exhaust. The front is for intake.

I actually found the issue. The default fan curve on the Power Fan was spinning too low. I kicked the curve to match the GPU fan curve more closely. Now hitting 75-76 deg as opposed to 80-82 I was seeing... I guess the icx independent fan rpm isn't such a great idea with my setup

Someone tested the effect.of the other fans in gpu temp. The others had a significant effect of lowering the gpu temp as well as the memory and vrms. I keep mine synced across the board and get solid temps.

Love these cards! Was only able to get these because of the ICX upgrade program resetting my step up. Had 1080 FTW2's beforehand and were great cards too. Running a custom fan curve keeping my temps anywhere from 55c to 75c depending on the game I'm playing.

Hi peeps, I am a virgin with regard to Nvidia cards in general. Looking back over the past two decades the GPUs I have had in my rig were from Matrox, then ATI and latterly from AMD. Let's face it, 2017 has brought gamers naff all from either AMD (Ryzen) or Intel. I was holding out to see what the AMD VEGA graphics card would bring but when I saw that it was performing just above a GTX 1070 and below a GTX 1080 I gave up on AMD in disgust. So I had some spare dosh to spend and decided that I would go for an Nvidia card and I was going to bust my cherry on a 1080 Ti. I decided, because of the length of the card, to go for the the EVGA 1080 Ti SC2. What decided me to go for EVGA was the fact that after they had a debacle with their previous version of the card, they were really good with regard to those affected by the problems, but not only that, decided to learn the lessons and react. From what I have seen they went above and beyond the call of duty (pardon the pun) and aside from some trepidation with regard to fan noise I am really looking forward to getting the card delivered next week. One thing I would appreciate, is if someone has a good fan profile they could share with me regarding how I should configure the two fans on the SC2 for the best balance between performance and noise I would be grateful.

I was one of the guys with the 1080 FTW 'black screen and fan ramp to 100%' issues on the original cards. EVGA not only quickly RMA'd my cards but even shipped the replacement cards to me first and covered all costs. Didn't cost me a penny. Their customer service is second to none. I've spent 1000's of dollars with them over the years and always loved their products. My current PC is an EVGA build short of the case and the memory. Solid and reliable system. I will continue to stand by this company and they are my go to especially for graphics cards. No question. You'll love your new Ti. Great choice!

Ironically over many years I have always found that EVGA had exactly what I wanted after I had already bought it somewhere else. The latest was the Superflower Leadex 550W Platinum, which, a few weeks after I bought it, was offered by EVGA under their own brand name. It was after reading the level of loyalty to the customer that EVGA displayed (again pardon the pun) which made me look at them FIRST this time when I was looking to buy a 1080 Ti graphics card. Aside from anything else I like to disprove "conventional wisdom" whenever I can and this time the one that got the kick up the arse was "no good deed goes unpunished"
