Once again, this is why I buy EVGA. Customer service and their attention to listening to what their customers want. Will they be labeled with the "GTX670"?

There already is a vanilla backplate for 670. http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=M021-00-000012&family=Accessories%20-%20Hardware&sw=4 
So the new one will have FTW on it.

The vanilla and FTW have completely difference PCB's, so the new one will be a regular 680 backplate with the '680' removed and replaced by '670'...
 
'FTW' would also be a nice addition too, but may limit their product flexibility in the future.  We shall see.

Depends on the mobo.

My pci express slots are spaced so i have a decent amount of room between both cards so i am def getting 2 back plates.

As far as air flow i doubt there is a difference to notice!

If I was a casual I wouldn't mind installing a 680 backplate on my 670's. The fact that I'm incredibly anal about the appearance of my PC's means that installing a backplate that says 680 on 670's is not an option for me. Sorry. I will go no backplate before I put one on that doesn't even represent the correct model.

So wipe your a$$, say three hail mary's and you & god can call it even. (what movie is that from). Get real if it helps cool the card who gives a crap if it says 680, jezze.

1-2* C some people notice but strengthens board flex and provides some air to get in. But mainly for looks.

I paid for a 670 ftw not a 680 so my back plate should not say 680.

I have a lot of patience so i dont mind waiting at all!

While the Card is clocked slightly higher than a stock 680, I'd prefer the exact model on the card and have no problem waiting.

Sorry if this seems a little harsh but you are about the 4th or 5th person in this thread who has told me to just get over the fact that the one has 680 on it....
 
First off, to anyone who purchases a back plate for the primary purpose of cooling your card you are absolutely kidding yourself. Yea, the 1-2C difference is a nice selling point for EVGA, but the only real reasons anyone should purchase one of these is for looks/handling of cards. The 1-2C difference they quote is probably well within the margin of error for any method of testing anyways. Speaking personally on my particular situation, my cards have water blocks on them anyways so I couldn't give two flips less about the additional 1-2C EVGA quotes.
 
Secondly, I am a particular person when it comes to the appearance of my PC's. It appears I am not alone in this as there are now 6 pages of people who have the same wish for their GTX 670 FTW. That is totally cool if it does not bother you to buy a GTX 670 and put a backplate on it that says GTX 680. You won't find me in your thread attacking you for it. If that is you then this thread was never meant for you anyways. It, on the other hand, would bother me a lot to have a GTX 680 sticker on my GTX 670. I always go back to this ... you don't put a Core i5 case badge on your Core i7 machine, do you?
 
The utter reality of the situation is that I've spent what, to me, is an incredible amount of money on my PC and much of that has been solely for aesthetic purposes. I'm not about to stop caring about aesthetics at a damn $20 backplate. 
 
If you are someone that thinks I and the rest of us here need to suck it up and deal with the 680 back plate that already exists then you quite simply are just not near as particular as a lot of people out there and this thread was never meant for you. Rather than questioning me or anyone else for what would be about the 10th time in this thread you should probably just move on.

With the price of cards today, it only seems fair that we always get a backplate specifically for that card......just saying. IMHO whether that backplate said "GTX---" or not I really wouldn't care as long as it didn't say "GTX680" when the card is a GTX670. Reminds me of those people who put an M3 badge on their 323i.

You are phrasing it wrong, its supposed to be "its like putting an i7 sticker on an i5 machine" If you were talking about me I'm not attacking anyone i'm just giving my opinion. I already have an i7 920 but i bought an i7 990x extreme sticker to put on my case because it looks cooler. Same goes for this the 680 looks a lot cooler than a 670 on a backplate, Since you are all about aesthetics im sure you would think the same but I guess not.  I even have amd and ati stickers on my case, I just like stickers and stuff I guess but honestly at the end of the day who cares what numbers are on ur pc. Its not like anyone you know is into computers like you right? They wouldnt know. And even if you are friends with computer savvy people so what, who cares that it says 680 and not 670 its not the end of the world. That right there is a first world problem.

No I wasn't talking about you. I quoted the post I was responding to, and yea attacking was probably a harsh word but those kind of posts have just gotten kind of annoying I guess. But yes I am different than you. I care about authentic aesthetics. I do not want an Extreme Edition sticker anywhere near my machine because I do not and have never owned one, and there definitely isn't one inside the case so it makes no sense, to me, for my case to advertise it. No different with the backplate.
