Yeah...I am waiting for the new card so I can do a clean install of Windows 10.  Machine running fine, but I wanted to get everything done clean...been just a little over a year.  I can understand not waiting...but when I purchase the SC or FTW...I rarely overclock beyond what EVGA has set, anyways...so it is done for me...Best of luck to all...looks like the line is moving a bit...hopefully those waiting for the SC will see step 2 in a week or so...fingers crossed!

It takes 1-3 business days in turn around time. This is normal and stated. Just keep an eye out for your email from UPS today or tomorrow. If you have further concerns contact customer support.

i contacted customer support and sent them the tracking info that showed it was signed for last thursday morning at EVGA and i still havent received an update, yesterday and today all they said was to keep an eye on the page for an update, and contact them again tomorrow. this is getting weird, it will be a week tomorrow since it has been at the offices.

Hi thisaintdre,

Thank you for your email and your forum post.  I can confirm that we are looking into this for you as I am not showing that the package has been received yet.  I can confirm that I do have your tracking number, but that the signature name does not look familiar.

I will be following up with with first thing tomorrow to assist with further status updates.  chrisb@evga.com

Anyone know if there is any difference in idle power consumption between the ACX and the SC?  Considering taking the ACX offer, will definitely go for it if it's idle power is lower.  (Offer email received yesterday, was 1430ish in queue last I saw.)

CPU: i7 5820k
GPU: 970 SC (soon to be 1080 ACX)
Displays: BenQ W7000, HTC Vive
Storage: 2x 1TB SSD's, 2x 300GB Velociraptors and a 3TB 7200 RPM drive (no RAID)
RAM: 32GB

both draw ~180 watts under load. they both only have an 8 pin power connector, and are both reference boards. i would imagine the idle power draw is about the same.

Is that measured power draw or spec power draw?  I would expect a board running at a higher clock should draw a bit more power.
I ended up going for the non-SC, looks like those switching save quite a bit of wait time.

I received this offer as well. I decided to wait a while longer for the SC. It was nice to be offered the option, though.

Same with me, I've waited forever already.  I might as well continue waiting.

Are you saying you took the offer to go with the reg ACX from the SC? Sometimes I hate being a patient person.

They're shipping SC's?  Do you happen to know where you were in the queue? Will my patients pay off soon? (I was 993 when we could check).

Re: Offer to Switch Back to 1080 ACX 3.0 from SC Upgrade 2016/09/25 07:55:44 (permalink)
Applied for step-up within 24 hours of it going live for the 1080. Received an e-mail on June 22nd saying they were bumping me up to a better card because of the delay. Received an e-mail (the one in this thread) on August 16th saying my original (non-upgrade) card had availability. Of course, I said yes, I wanted to move forward.

Never heard back. E-mailed EVGA on September 16th and was told by Hudson H. that they do not have access to my queue position, and there is no ETA on my step-up.

I originally bought the 980 Classified from EVGA with the expectation that I could step-up in a reasonable timeframe. EVGA has totally failed that expectation, and I will not be purchasing a card from them in the future. Honestly a bit disappointed that something so heavily advertised is run pretty poorly. I'd understand if there were serious availability issues, but virtually every retail location near me has variants of the 1080 in stock, and I could have one same-day delivered by Amazon in Chicago. I just think that since they know I'm already a customer who bought their product, they can now afford to take their time and set very vague expectations. Keep in mind, EVGA is not doing this out of the kindness of their heart. It's a selling point of buying their product, and they do it so we purchase their product. It's fair that I expect the advertised service to result in an upgrade in a reasonable timeframe.

I've been a loyal EVGA customer for over a decade, and it's dumb to treat someone like this, because loyalty is easy to lose when there are plenty of other options out there.
