I was looking at the Dynamic case also when i was thinking of my upgrade to the open loop cooling. It is smaller on the top and the bottom which affects how much space you have to install the rads and work with internally. I went with ordering the O11XL instead to allow me more room to work with and the larger rads. The addition of fans on the bottom should really help with adding cooler air from the bottom of the PC up into the case which should help reduce temps and heat soak. The only thing left is that I am thinking of adding a third rad to my system. I already have two EK Classic PE 360mm rads which I intended to use on the top and side while having 3 fans on the bottom pulling air into the case. The side rad fans I was going to set as intake and the top rad fans to exhaust. But now I thinking of getting a third rad which would be the EK SE 3600mm rad for the side which I would like to set up in push/pull intake and move the PE rad to the bottom with the fans set up to intake. I always planned on having the rear case fan set to exhaust from the start, but I have to take the time to measure up the space I have behind the side mount to see if it would fit the SE rad along with the unifan and still allow the rear panel to be installed without mods. The XL case is just so much larger that it allows easier access and more room to work with. It's sitting on my shelf along with all my parts just waiting on the water cooled GPU so I can work on putting it all together.

Dabadger84 So here's an update, got the new heatsinks in, haven't had a chance to game on them yet, will be doing that shortly, but they seem to be pretty good stuff. They're light, but the base is fairly thin, so that makes sense. I scratched one with a screw driver just to make sure they're real aluminum - pretty sure they are:
Why not just do a big one? seems like you could get a 1" tall heatsink maybe 100mm x 140mm. I think with more surface area it might be better cooling. I did find that 1000rpm was the best for noise myself. I can't tell with my back plate if the tiny heatsinks (4mm high) has done anything... it might just be the effects of the fan I have blowing at it. couple degrees lower... but seems marginal.
Trying to keep the obstruction to a minimum where it can be minimized, only putting them in the areas where there's actually something on the other side of the backplate to transfer heat from, using this as a guide, the ones at the "top" and "bottom" on my picture are over the VRM areas (that are obviously NOT on the back of the card, and I'm unsure if there's thermal pads there either):
Note, the VRM boxes I made are a little off, but close enough:
I'm fixing to run Cyberpunk for a bit & see how the temps shake out with an ambient that's fairly controlled, between 70-71F.
Can you send me a link to those heat sinks.

2 360mm rads are more than enough for a CPU + GPU loop. Adding a 3rd will show minimal changes as it will enter diminishing returns but either way, that is all up to you. I would test all rad spaces as intake so they can be introduced with the coolest ambient air while leaving the bottom as intake and the unfiltered rear as exhaust.

Couldn't you guys just stick a low profile actively cooled CPU cooler on the backplate instead of all those mini heatsinks? Those coolers can handle 65-100Watts

Hi I need some help. So recently I finally got a gpu after msi rma refund with 6800xt. I was looking for a 3090 and couldnt get one at msrp . I was on reddit in Canada hardwareswap and someone offered me a 3090 kingpin near msrp so i took it. Fast forward to today I just got it and when I tried to install it I didnt realize it wouldnt fit. My o11 dynamic cant fit the 360 aio on side because of my h115i and i cant switch them because the 280 wont fit on the side. Im trying to think of a possible solution and only one I can think of without putting a rad on the bottom, is that I need a new case. Im thinking maybe the o11 xl. Will that support my h115i and the 3090 on the side? Any replies or other solutions is greatly appreciated.

Matt, since no one else replied I'll provide you the info based on my build. I don't have the Kingpin yet but am planning an open loop system using the Lian Li O11XL. The XL version can support rads on the top and on the side. The top has provisions for the 280mm rads if you are using it or it can accept a 360mm rad. The Kingpin has a 360mm rad so it could easily go on top or on the side if the tubes are long enough. You might have to vertical mount the GPU though since the case is so large and the distance from the standard gpu mount to the side rad area is kinda far when considering how the fluid tubes exit the Kingpin. If you use a vertical mount GPU kit, you will reduce the distance between the rad and the gpu so it would help in reducing the distance between the two and the routing of the fluid tubes. Going to a vertical mount you might be interested in picking up the PCIE 4.0 riser cable from Link up to continue using gen 4 PCIE connection. Some vertical kits provide a 3.0 cable so you would need to change the bios in your motherboard to 3.0 prior to installing the vertical mount kit unless you buy the 4.0 cable. If you top mount the rad for the gpu and do not use a vertical mount kit for the gpu, the tubes still might hit the glass because of the way the tubes exit the gpu. The rad position on the bottom is intended for open loop rads or fans. You should avoid putting an AIO rad there. Hope this helps.

I think you should change your AIO instead of changing the case. The XL simple adds more vertical space to allow for bottom mounted radiators in a open loop setup. Currently I have the O11D + Corsair H150i (360 rad) + Kingpin (360 rad) and it works great. I have my CPU AIO mounted on the side and Kingpin AIO mounted on the top. See picture below. Just don't get go of the kingpin!

Get a bigger case if you have the room to have a bigger case. I've always had a policy of buying the biggest reasonably sized case I could find, and it's served me well. Having more room for radiators & more room to work (so you don't end up cutting your hands on computer case edges) is very underrated imo. If you want to go full derptard like I did, the Thermaltake View 91 is a very overpriced ($449), but very awesome case :-D I keep my cases through several build iterations, so spending that much on a case, while it still hurt, wasn't too bad, and I really like it, here's a shot of my current setup all overly-tubed & fanned & whatnot: Even with a P360 (38mm thick) radiator up top, and a XE 480 (60mm thick) radiator in the front, it's still a very spacious case.

Thank you! The temps have been great. 54-55 in non-rtx games and 60-64 in RTX games like cyberpunk. That's with +100 on core, 121% PL and a fan curve around low noise. Too bad I'll be ripping this up in the next few weeks and going open loop external radiator setup.

One should be fine. Look for something that fits the visuals of your build - the airflow rate doesn't really matter as long as it's blowing air over the back of the card - it just needs some airflow, period, doesn't have to be a ton. I only run my backplate fan on maximum if I'm gaming or benchmarking, otherwise it stays at ~900RPM, completely silent. I personally run EK Vardar fans, they're pretty plain looking but they move a lot of air at 900-1000RPM, while being quiet, and they move a crapton of air at full speed but are a bit loud. The one on my backplate specifically is currently an EK X3M, but I'll be replacing all of the X3Ms eventually with regular Vardars, because the X3Ms I have on my bigger radiator have visible gaps that I don't like thinking about how that could be effecting airflow.
