Configure Surround, PhysX. Missing SLI enable ? This is a train wreck set up and had no problem when I ran it before with out water block on Ultra. Both cards show in device manager and Nvidia panel, but SLI enable is missing in control panel. Re Installed drivers , clean install , rolled back drivers.  Worked fine before http://www.3dmark.com/spy/16698465   http://www.3dmark.com/pr/689934 These runs were done before water block was on Ultra card. Could Nvlink be bad, windows blocking . Dog chasing my tail right now.

If it happened after installing the water block, you might want to start there.

Not experienced with installing those, but if something is grounding out the NVLink area / too tight (just a guess).

I am not familiar with much of this but I did read another thread where people installed the EVGA water cooling onto the FTW3 and then flashed with the hybrid bios. I doubt that is your problem but just throwing ideas out there.

Ultra runs fine with Water block by its self. Runs a lot cooler then Kingpin. Ran Port royal with it and was able to bump scores a lot  without trying. Kingpin runs fine by itself. All this is above my pay grade.

Turn off Windows fast startup if it is on

power flush .. shut down pull the plug from wall .. hold start button

check Device manager that both cards are seen with correct Nv driver

Has Windows made an update or a new Nv driver since your blocks were installed ?

    Run GPU-Z ... both cards seen as PCIe 8x or 16x ?

If the 3090 GPU are "recognized by PC" - as PCIe 4x for any reason SLI is Not an option

Both cards recognized 16x as pcie 3x and Sli is not a option in control panel. I try all . Did not fix.

I reseated Nvlink  several times. Cards our as even as I can get. If Nvlink is not bad, riser cables our shielded, but could be RF interference from riser cables being problem ?

I try to keep as much separation as I can to prevent grounding out.  If its a stray RF from bad riser cable shielding this is Just not a ideal way to run SLI.

    FAQ # 59400
Why is there no SLI option in Nvidia Control Panel?

not sure it should matters - you loaded the Gaming Driver or the "Studio driver" .... Tried any older drivers ?

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/

Agree Confirm all connections to the GPUs ..... test with a Spare riser cable if you have one .. though you mention they are seen @ 16x

    Try:

(I go offline to install drivers, then shut down All background software - yep, even security software)

    1) remove driver from Windows Device manager & refresh ... see if the SLI becomes available

    2) Run DDU & do a clean install of your previous Nv driver

    3) Test each card by itself

    4) Clean install of Win 10 ... might come to this

When installing ...are you getting several security alerts - generated in Windows 10 ... "blocked program" ... you need to: check "Windows Security"

"Allow an App through Controlled folder access"  ---> if you noticed a Security pop-up during the Software's install

Also check the: "Recently blocked apps"

Handy step by step how to:   Add or Remove Allowed Apps for Controlled Folder Access

Thanks for the Help. Will try all this after a while  going to take break from this. I don't have any spare riser cables and good chance window or security is blocking . Great advice!

Wish I had another Nvlink, but it looks like I need to take block off and see if it touching some place it should not around the Nvlink connection. Card works fine by  its self on the riser cable as  does the kingpin.

Yeah that's true, when I was using bykski blocks on my 2080ti kingpins I had to use the nvidia nvlink to seat properly and not the evga.

Fingers on Evga Nvlink seat all way down on Kingpin and block on Ultra  is not quite flush block prevents. It feels like its seated good but may not be and could be the problem. I took the block off and look for any place it  may  be grounding out and could not find anything. Put it back together and no luck . I did run Port Royal with 3090 ftw3 ultra with the water block before I try both in SLI and the Ultra beat my Kingpin best score that was with my I9 9900 ks rig that runs Port Royal almost 400 points higher single card. If scales the same I9 9900ks should run around 15800 . New Port Royal score with I 9 10980xe  http://www.3dmark.com/pr/728013  best score with Ultra on air with 10980xe was  http://www.3dmark.com/pr/437087  score went up by 1091 points. Best score with Ultra on air with I 9 9900 Ks http://www.3dmark.com/pr/607760 scores 14773 if it scales the same it  could run ? 15864 only way to find out is try it. Thanks for all the good advice  from every one.  Best score for Kingpin with 9900 ks 15369 http://www.3dmark.com/pr/654869 -81 points from Ultra with block.

When I was doing some other mods I even had to use my dremel to remove part of the nvlink and part of the block to make it fully seat on the gpu, but in the long run it all worked. Your using the optimus block correct?

Sounds like you at least know the problem now. It should allow the fingered to seat fully.

I hope it works now, my original response was probably nvlink not seated or defective, good luck with the reassembly.
