Upon driver install it does say to disable sli prior to installing. You will need to re-enable sli everytime after driver install, and if you have certain plug-ins like me Lcore and Kscroll you also have to disable those prior to disabling/enabling sli. If you use the new K-boost feature you will also have to disable/re-enable sli prior to and after using K-boost after installing drivers. It's sort of crazy to have to go through all this, hopefully they make it easier in the future for driver installs. As it is now I have to restart my cpu 4 times just to install a new driver(that's without the re-start from driver fusion as well).

The Sabertooth X79 has no video output, so there's nothing there to change for iGPU settings that I've found. The drivers were installed via Custom install with "Clean Install" checked on top of the stock ones that Windows 8 has. My monitor is a Dell U2311H (I had two connected at first, and I thought that it might have been a timing issue so I unplugged it...still get the same black screen regardless).

The IVB/690 PC didn't run into the problem with the exact same installation procedure, so I don't know if it's specific to certain hardware configs or not.

Also, you might want to pass along to the driver team that they need to add a command that closes the Windows apps in the background before installation or settings changes. Took me forever to figure out what wwahost.exe was doing, and why it was causing issues with SLI.

I got my first bluescreen in years while playing Dishonered. This is what I tracked it down to. PCIIDEX.SYS Is this driver related?

What SLI issue? You couldn't enable SLI?

SLI wouldn't enable with any Windows App open in the background, because the apps run in a program called wwahost.exe, and it pops up as a conflicting program when attempting to enable SLI.

wwahost.exe
It's a Win8 app tied to IE and the MS Store: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/hh465143.aspx

Google the file - it's a common source of error.

And it's an MS file: http://www.advancedpctweaker.com/exe-errors/pciidex.sys.html

I'll remind everyone that cursing is not allowed on the EVGA forum even if disguised by asterisks.

Obviously you were referring to me since you edited my post. So...people can say "mofo", but I put 3 consonant initials, and I'm cussing? You have got to be mistaken. I don't even cuss in my daily life, much less a forum. I didn't put anything in disguise, either, so there must be a built in filter. I really hope you realize you were mistaken. Regardless, I won't put those 3 letters together anymore if it's a problem.

twztid13...my Precision X v3.0.4 offset can no longer be changed in 1 point increments (it just ignores them until you get to a number that makes the clock go up by 11 - 13). Formerly, I had +70 to get a 1246 kepler boost clock. Now, with the 1241 at +70, it changed nothing from +71 to +75, but +76 to +80 gives me a 1254 kepler boost clock (adding 13 for anywhere from +6 to +10 offset increase). Same issue on the memory clock. Mine was 3375 with a +272. When I went up +5 to +277, it raised the clock by 11 to 3386, which isn't accurate, but only 1 point off. When I lowered the offset just 1 point to +276, it goes back to 3375...down 11 clocks. WHY, Nvidia??...

This is historically tied to the use of a 27 MHz clock generator for nVidia graphics engines and the breakdown of clock multipliers for each of the subsystems. Apps that "allowed" frequency adjustments outside of those multiplier increments and claimed greater "accuracy" generally just provided their interpolation of the data point as the readout...

Ahh. Thanks for the info. Very interesting!

Okay, I just play BF3 for a couple hours & right about 45 min into the 2nd game, I was gunner in an LAV & it just turned black & froze. i could alt + tab out, but the game had the same result - frozen. I did everything I could to get back in, cuz that's alot of stats I got screwed out of, but nope. I guess the drivers are affecting BF3. I played about 4 other games since I installed them, and no problems (not even with Guild Wars 2 for 8-9 hours). GRRRR!! Anyone find a fix, or is everyone just going back to older drivers?

I got my problem fixed. It wasnt the driver. While I was checking out my system I noticed windows was saying I had only 3.99gb usable ram. Turns out one of my dimms was loose. After reseating all is well.
