Extended warranties never transfer. 3 years is the Maximum length of time a warranty will transfer. It will never match your extended warranty.

No, I believe you may have been misinformed. Here's the information on the Step-up program page:-

CONDITIONS TO QUALIFY FOR STEP-UP:If you should happen to miss your 14-day registration window on your qualifying 3 Year Warranty product, then you will need to purchase an extended warranty within 90 days of your original purchase date to enable the Step-Up option.
Your Extended Warranty and Advanced RMA (EAR) purchases now transfer to your new Step-Up product.

You might also wish to note that 1095 days = 3 x 365. So, for the remaining days to be correct, the purchase date would have had to have been today. This was clearly not the case.

It also appears the information shown on the my product page is incorrect or inconsistent. If the extended warranty was transferred, then the "days left" on the new product should be less than the 1817 shown on the my product page.

Actually, you're both correct (if you add a little context).

It's true that Extended Warranties transfer from the previous product to your Step-Up product.  No question there.  However, the Warranty Check page isn't going to check your warranty status; instead, it's going to check the warranty status of the product from the perspective of a second-hand owner, to whom an Extended Warranty will not transfer.

In this way, the page is working as intended.

My RMA motherboard is not giving any warranty info, it just says, ""We are unable to determine the warranty for the Serial Number. Please contact Customer Service for help." ..except when I use the contact page and hit submit, nothing happens.

Please PM me the serial number of the motherboard with this issue.  I'll have programming do a more thorough check.

Edit - Nvm, you did.  Thanks.

Bad deal for local buyers, not even going to faze people who buy with Pay Pal Goods and Services as they would get their money back instantly on dispute.

Hopefully most of the shipment was going to stores instead of people who were waiting in the queue.

Since EBAY makes money on seller fees for successful sales could they face legal issues once they learn that a sold item was stolen?

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on October 29, 2021, a shipment of EVGA GeForce RTX 30-Series Graphics Cards was stolen from a truck en route from San Francisco to our Southern California distribution center.

These graphics cards are in high demand and each has an estimated retail value starting at $329.99 up to $1959.99 MSRP.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that under state and Federal law:
  • It is a criminal and civil offense to “buy or receive” property that has been stolen. Cal. Penal Code section 496(a).
  • It is also a criminal and civil offense to “conceal, sell, withhold, or aid in concealing selling or withholding” any such property.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER notice that:
  • If you are able to successfully register your product and see it under , then your product is NOT affected by this notice, you can also check the serial number at the page to see if it is affected.
  • EVGA will NOT REGISTER or HONOR ANY WARRANTY or UPGRADE claims on these products.

If you have or receive any information relating to these products, please share that with us at .

We appreciate your attention to this issue.

Thank you,
EVGA Management

I would hate to be EBAY since based on the above EBAY would be guilty of aiding the sale of stolen GPUs.  Perhaps EBAY should prohibit the sale of EVGA GPUs indefinitely in order to avoid legal liability for aiding in the sale of potentially stolen property as well as profiting off of the sale of stolen property which is also likely illegal as well.

Well...how else would EBAY know that they're possibly running afoul of the law? I mean, the whole website could get thrown in jail or something!

Doesn't have a point of view
Knows not where he's going to
Isn't he a bit like...the EVGA queue?

Scam, or selling stolen product?  You decide!  $600 for a 3080ti seems too good to be true.

Ebay would have to be knowingly selling stolen cards to be held liable.  Unless the seller states in the description "hey these are stolen and looking to flip", there is really no case.  Pretty sure their TOS would have this outlined.

Some one is mining with them as I type. They will hit Ebay in 2024 or 2025 as used cards.

Do you honestly think someone who's smart enough to jack a semi full of gpus is going to sell them in the US?

Um aren’t the sn on the back of the cards?

They are also on the outside of the box.

That is also a thing you check when you order from EVGA, make sure the serial number on the box matches the one on the card.  If it doesn't, call CS to get it straightened out and save headaches if you have to RMA.

On one tech news site, they said the cards are being sold to miners in Vietnam.  Someone checked the serial numbers and said they were the stolen cards.

The only English language version I can find is wccftech unfortunately.  There is a translation there.

Sounds like EVGA should get in touch with INTERPOL, if they haven’t already.

Nice catch, but good luck to EVGA with trying seek restitution from a card that wound up in Russia.
