I always ask for the serial and check on EVGA website so no problem to me. When buying used, I highly favor EVGA because of their warranty terms. Honestly waiting to see the influx of denied warranty claims from other AIBs due to people buying from the private market and not having original receipt.

If so I wish I was notified or would have my shipping upgraded to next day delivery.
Maybe hire Leo Prinsloo for future transports!
My step was the same as yours. I live about 30 mins from the CA HQ, so shipping time was minimal, but give it some time, it will arrive. When you get the stepup approval, the product is set aside for you for 7 days. Once you pay for it, it's yours, it will not be sent to anyone but you. It's set aside until your RMA item arrives. There can be shipping delays after they process it, they are dealing with a ton of items being stolen, give them a little slack. EVGA provides more support and perks than any other manufacturer. A 100% value upgrade is unheard of for any other make.

They should post the serial numbers so we can catch the people who stole the cards in the first place!!! Stolen card pops up on eBay - we can verify and get them

EVGA is not going to post the serial numbers for a lot of reasons. If a stolen card shows up on eBay, you won't get the serial number until you purchase the card and the seller probably bought the card from the original thieves. It would be pretty stupid and risky to try and sell hot merchandise on eBay. If you want to check a serial number just go here: https://www.evga.com/warranty/check.asp. No log in required.

EVGATech_LeeM If you are able to get access to the serial number from the seller, then you can confirm it on our Check Warranty page.
Late to this tread, but, there seems to be an issue with the warranty checker page, or i don't get what it's telling me. I entered the serial for a purchase made directly through EVGA, it was a step-up and registered in my name by EVGA before shipping. I can see this GPU along with my other registered products in my product page with a 5 year warranty. Yet the warranty page simply states "We are unable to determine the warranty for the Serial Number. Please contact Customer Service for help.". How does this tell me if the card is stolen, already registered or new and able to be registered? Perhaps i'm missing something, but shouldn't the status be a little more definitive?

Log out, clear your cache, Ctrl+Shift+Delete, and then open the link without logging in and see what happens. It probably is a glitch on the site and you should email webmaster@evga.com and explain the problem.

Can confirm there's a bug. Your account looks OK. I'll have our Programming look into it.

I just wanted to add hopefully nobody was hurt both physically or emotionally in this robbery. I don't know how they went missing but I could only imagine how I would feel to realize the shipment was missing or worse have someone forcibly take them.

It effectively means you can't buy a used evga unless the seller is willing to provide the serial number to you. Since no one knows the models stolen other than some were 329 and some were 1959 in price. This means every card other than the kingpins could have been stolen. So effectively you simply must watch any EVGA purchase other than directly from EVGA. Here is why lets say the thief has a connection to Best Buy or newegg. He simply swaps the hot cards with Best Buy non hot cards or newegg non hot cards. I have had multiple issues buying cards (3000 series cards) from both newegg and from Best Buy with very strong indications of fraud on the part of some random clerk at those companies. So I am no longer able to buy any evga other than if I get a card from the queue . How would you feel if you win a newegg shuffle and get sent an evga that can't be registered since it is marked stolen. Well at least I have my name on the queue for the hybrid 3090. You buy one from Best Buy go to register it and evga says you have a hot card. Not very good for you. You buy one from Newegg and it breaks in 2 months you go to rma it and evga says you have a hot card. Good luck with the rma

If a thief "has a connection" to legit retailers then they can do all manner of things.
Buying second hand without or without a serial number usually means you have no warranty. (With other brands)
EVGA is an anomaly in that they will actually cover a used card *if it wasn't stolen from them*.

Retailers should be using authorized distributors, to include mom and pop shops going through a legit distributor as well.
If mom and pop shops or legit retailers are skipping the authorized distributor, that is on them and anyone that purchases from them should easily get a refund.

What kind of connection could these rat’s have with the trusted partners? If EVGA’s trusted partners move some of these cards then they have violated their agreement with EVGA and hopefully never sell another card from them. Obtaining stock through back channels is a violation.

Looks like this was just a bug on the page with serial numbers on products received from Step-Up. It should be resolved now, so please let me know if you still see this message.

Obtaining stock through back channels is a violation. It wouldn't make sense for authorized resellers to participate in this way. Ignoring the remarkable and consequential legal and PR issues caused by getting caught selling stolen goods as a nationally or internationally known company, these companies also know that there's no warranty through us if they don't buy the cards directly through EVGA and/or our authorized distributors. If there's no ship record from us to the company or to a distributor, there's no warranty. Also, while it's true that the shipment stolen is worth a lot of money, it's still a small amount of money compared to the amount of business most of our authorized resellers do overall. It's just not worth risking legal and financial consequences to partake in stolen goods to make just a little more money. That alone should convince everyone that you don't need to worry about issues with our partners.

I still wonder and hope we hear more on this. - Was the trailer stolen as a whole? - Was it a random act and only a few GPUs were taken or was it all the GPU pallets? - Were there other merch that wasn't taken? - Did this shipment just land? - SUVs, sedans, etc. used? - Was this at a secure location with security cams? I just hope they have enough LEO resources for this investigation. I also wonder if the gov. is involved.

My guess is that they would be used to make money mining not to resell. Of course if somewhere is using massive amounts of power feeding a whole shipment of cards it might be pretty easy to find.

I think this is a good point to bring up now. Obviously we're all clueless as to what law enforcement might be doing with this case at the moment, but hopefully more info can be released over time. If you don't already know, you would be surprised what "the internet" can find when solving crimes, many times doing better and uncovering more than the actual police. (example being the Gabby Petito case from a couple month back). Shoot, if I were EVGA I might even throw down a reward for info leading to the arrest of individuals.. $20k + Kingpin card of choice You would have the whole internet looking!

I can confirm that warranty information is actually being shown now, however, for the sake of completeness, It would appear the default product warranty is being used as the basis for the calculation, as opposed to the actual warranty applicable to the given serial number. On the warranty checker page i'm seeing: Warranty Length: 3 Year('s)Warranty Status: In WarrantyDays Left: 1095 Whereas In the My Products page i'm seeing :-Length: 5 years from date of purchaseStatus: In WarrantyDays Left: 1817 Days left on the warranty checker will seemingly always show exactly 3 years.

Extended warranties never transfer. 3 years is the Maximum length of time a warranty will transfer. It will never match your extended warranty.

This. Why steal them unless you were going to mine them. Mine them for 3 years until warrantees are dead. Then dump them on ebay or Facebook or Craigs list.
