Brad_Hawthorne I'm always humored by Noctua. Let's make the most kick ass fans on the market and let's also make them the most ungodly ugly color as our trademark.
Yea whats with the color? I mean get with the times.... throw some RGB on there. If we wanted just performance there are many options out there.

I have no doubt if they were just black, they would have sold a lot more than that horrendous color scheme that blends with no case on the planet.

If they made Black fans, they'd just be another fan manufacturer, As it is now, they are THE ugly fan manufacturer. ... that's better right?

It's their specs and audibles that sell but in black, it would attract more buyers on top of all of that. You can't deny that unless you're one of them 'but does it have RGB?!' is understandable.

kram36 Yeah, the color scheme isn't pleasing to my eyes.
While I know this is an old post it's worth pointing out Noctua has an iconic color scheme. It's like a trademark of the products.
Color scheme is maybe not perfect for everyone, but probably people who like military colors will like them. One thing is sure, they are paradise for cleaning, after you remove dust with brush gently, maybe just little frame with alcohol fans are like brand new. You can't say that for every models on market, special RGB with transparent blades. And its very easy to remove dust from this material, Sterrox.

Yes and make sure they have fan cages installed on them if you'd like to keep your fingers.

Gentle Typhoon is logic choice if someone don't like Noctua color scheme. But dust stick to Gentle Typhoon blades so easy and move very hard. But aluminum Black of Silver grill could help a lot. Something like this... I don't know what is wrong with Noctua color... I will stay on them and for second radiator and cooling redesign.

Aye, Noctua sells chromax black versions of nearly all its fans these days. It's just an issue of finding them in stock, a lot of people seem to buy them and resell them at crazy markups.

Is there a A12 version?

Not yet unfortunately. I guess they are still testing how the dye changes how the blades expand since they made such a big deal of that before?

Whoops, I guess not. The A12x15 black is a different fan entirely. A little odd though that the A12 is nothing like the A14 or A20 fans. They should've used a different letter.

I need 2x 80mm fans on back side of case and one 40mm for M.2. I'm not sure about model... probably Noctua NF-A8 PWM For NMVe M.2 I will use 40x40x10mm, Noctua NF-A4x10 PWM. He work on 5000RPM, 3700 with resistor. But I will reduce speed on half inside BIOS. 2000 RPM, arround 40% close to M.2 will remove heat and drop temps on level of normal HDD. I don't care for color of the fans any more because dust and dirt are not visible and clean easy, performance and package are nice. Warranty is 6 years old and no more joking with fans.

I've got some of their grey redux 1200 80mm fans and they seem alright, they are very quiet at least.

Redux color scheme is better, but now I can't mixed them, and standard versions are better fans and better package, more accessories. These small Noctua NF-A4x10 PWM are great to cooldown M.2 controller. He is much much hotter then rest of drive.

Supposedly the color is due to the plastic being unable to meet the very high specs when done in other colors. The fan blades are very very stiff. I've got a quad of the A12's intaking push pull on a hybrid rad and a CLC120. They keep my 9900K at 75C in a half hour 145w handbrake run and a 2080 Ti around 55C with full power overclock. Plenty quiet. Only fans in a compact 4U rack case.
