wonder what the results will be in terms of stats, and if a 140mm version is in the works.

4 years of R&D for a fan ? Sounds like a Mfg issue or budget constraints. Looks like R&D forgot to experiment with the color, same strange tan / brown ugly fan Will have to wait for actual reviews

As if I haven't seen enough overpriced air movers at microcenter recently. Wonder what these are gonna cost, $99/fan? 4 years of screwing around is a lot of money to recoup. The whole idea of .5mm fan heigth is...interesting. Not 4 years to develop interesting though. I keep thinking if these go oem people who buy PC's and ignore they cut their time to fan being bound up by dust metric to as little as 1/3rd for 1.5mm fans and 1/6th for 3mm.

They make amazing stuff. It is quiet and effective. Ugly as sin, though, but my pc is purely utilitarian and is under the table anyway. I replaced all fans in my PC, including ones over CPU water cooling, and now, even under heavy load, my PC purrs like a kitten. Great for powerful and quiet systems.

This fans attract me so much. They could be used and on 140mm radiators with adapter. https://noctua.at/en/products/accessories/na-sfma1/specification Still need to be compared with CORSAIR ML120 PRO. This fan cost even 25-30 euro. It's always better to buy nice fans and keep them clean. Every month, litterary every month remove them and clean with brush. They could last 5 years or more. Better than 5$ garbage. This Noctua only need one finish, removing sleeve and installing MDPC-X Black. Beautiful fan. OK I must admit I would like to see them more in some grey color, but...

This is from Vortez Review.... Our testing showed this fan blows everything else out of the water, including the Corsair ML-120, a fan known for its excellent performance. The construction of the fan is “no compromise” in every single way, going to unbelievable lengths to ensure optimal performance and minimal noise in the process. The fan is easily the heaviest we’ve encountered, tipping the scales at a mighty 201g. A Corsair ML Series 120mm fan, for example, weighs 148g. Noctua believe in their product so much, they tag it with a 6-year warranty; not shabby at all! To round up, if you’re after the best performance or silent operation, this is the only fan we can recommend, full stop. Yeah, it’s pricey at £26, but that is absolutely warranted in our opinion. Guys what you think, I need 3 fans, CORSAIR ML120 PRO had biggest chance. I always wished Notcua fans but color prevent me. 6 years warranty is long period, but price is 30 euro I saw. What you think, I should order these days fans. This Noctua adapter give you opportunity to use him on 140mm radiator. 400-1700-2000 RPM, 1700RPM is sweet spot for silence/performance. But only if fans are excellent. They need to be excellent to people keep them on 1700-1800 RPM. That's like 1200 RPM on fans from past. I have idea to completely ignore fan color and look or to hide them behind radiator. I can't find information about weight, GT was 200 gr... Amazon say this fan is 900gr, 2.2lb, others are 0.9 That's not possible.

I bought 3x NF-A12x25 PWM for 60 euro, that's 3 for price of 2, they should arrove for 3 days. I hope I will soon have some Lian Li to hide them. But anyway Noctua will launch in Black color in 2019 and I will switch.

To be honest, it's not the colour of their products that dissuades me from jumping ship despite all the rave about performance. It's the price. For example, when purchasing a CPU cooler I chose the Deepcool Lucifer over the Noctua NH-D15 and the performance difference is minimal. But the prices, respectively were $50.00 and $140.00. Not worth the extra cost.

Price is insane, 35 euro is one in Hungary, 40 euro one in my country. Some guy got 6 review sampleas and I success to buy 3 of them for 60 euro. But we must be fair, these are not decorative fans to change them every year when new RGB design show up. These fans are to finish job next 5 years and that's it. I'm sorry because they not share my vision to launch in Redux color scheme, same fan. That would be amazing fan.

I finish my fan shoping for next 5 years. They are really cool, heavy. Nice work. If someone want fans like GT, San Ace, Delta, that's it. Only more like GT and silent, frame and blades are much better quality than GT, better accessories, etc. worth. Only what could make me sad now is Noctua launch same only in Redux color, black not so much, but for Grey I would sold them and bought newer. You have my official support to rob your parents, wives, husbands, brothers, sisters until they gone from market. How many times GT gone, 2-3, 2 times I think Scythe continue production, and later someone else.

Now they need to reproduce that in a 3 speed 200mm fan. 800, 1000, and 1200 rpms would be sweet.

In every package you get extender, Y adapter for 2 fans, and adapter for work on 1700 RPM. Really no reason to work on lower speed because it's completely silent on 1700 RPM and move a lot of air. My fan headers are optimized default on 50% and I need to change speed in BIOS to work on full speed ili Fan Xpert. Fans are great these rubbers hold them to stay in horizontal position tight even if you not screw them. It's easy to readuce fan speed on fan header in BIOS.

Those are tight tolerances when it comes to plastic parts. Normally that close of specs are reserved for the Medical industry. I am doing some plastic parts now that are holding a +/- .001 tolerance (.588-.589) which is .0254 mm, im allowed +/- .002. which is .0254 mm, but there are issues with the mating part, so i have bucked it down. even at .5 mm, Its not an easy job. Everything has an effect.. material drying, humidity in the air, cooling time and temp. Its really impressive that these fans have such a tight tolerance.

I'm impressed of sleeve qiality. They look really well. Cool fan no doubt, I'm glad I find them for so cheap price. First 6 arrived in Serbia for review. They are tested, I bought 3, 3 others are sent to other site for testing and guy will keep them for him. I'm not sure I would pay 50 euro more for same 3 fans, 110-120 euro, I'm not sure, I was ready almost to give up and order ML120 PRO. I still wait to finish test for adapters to send me for free. I had really luck to saw them on market place. One thing make me happy, I really liked Gentle Typhoon, but he had flaws, poor frame paint, no sleeve, he had 100-200RPM space to run faster, 2150 RPM was rear and expensive, once painted there was good change to disbalance them because paint screw up performance, blade become heavier, etc... It's extremely hard to pain them to look good and to keep same performance. You need expensive paint, primer, sleeve... etc... That cost same as fans or more. These are 2000-2050RPM, better frame, better blade material, better and more accessories, better controling with BIOS and PWM. Pure win. NF-A12x25 recommended. This is fan and for normal CPU cooler. 1700 RPM and two fans could give you 5C lower temps. I know many of you keep 20 old fans in house, sold them for cheap price and buy these.

Yesterday I cleaned three of mine Noctua NF-A12x25 PWM fans. Dust clean very easy on them and after cleaning with brush they are like new. Most of fans on market look good until they become dirty. Later they look terrible. Special fans with transparent blades.
