$1300 for that level of performance is a good deal imo.

Its completely unrealistic to compare the MSRP of a GPU in 2022, with the MSRP of the original 3000 series cards launched in September 2020, considering that the price of ETH has went up by 800% since then, and there are now global component shortages.
 
The world changed, prices changed too, that's just the way it is, short of jumping in a time machine, its just something that everyone will need to get used to.

it is completely realistic to compare the MSRP as the only ones who have had massive increases in their "wages" is companies.  Prices for everything have gone up stupidly, while people are still making the same, if not less money.  Just l look at how Nvidia's quarterly profits have broken records since Q1FY2021.  Q1FY21 was up 65.8% ($3.080), Q2FY21 was up 66% ($3.866), Q3FY21 was up 65.5% ($4.726), Q4FY21 was up 65.5% ($5.003), Q1FY22 was up 66.2% ($5.661), Q2FY21 was up 66.7% ($6.507), Q3FY22 was up 67% ($7.103) in BILLIONS.  In under 2 years Nvidia went from $3.080 billion per quarter to $7. billion per quarter in revenue (equal to their HALF their revenue of FY19), all while claiming there is a "video card shortage".

So yes it's perfectly realistic to compare the MSRP as Nvidia is literally making money hand over fist.  In the span of 2 years they increased their revenue to the point they are making in 6 months what it took them to do in a year, all while raising prices to record levels, and claiming they have no product to sell.

This is what happens when we allow companies to continue to acquire more and more market share, buy up competitors, make it impossible for anyone else to get into the marketplace, etc.  We end up with a handful of companies that service the entire market, in some cases as few as 2 or 3 maximum that dominate the entire landscape, or worse, just 1.  There is no more healthy competition and we end up with oligopolies or even monopolies.  We reap what we sow.  It's a terrible outcome for the free market and for the consumers.  This doesn't even begin to touch on all of the other problematic aspects like ridiculously low borrowing rates, excessive consumer debt, etc., and the massive explosion of consumerism.  Whether you are for or against regulation, we need to be able to stimulate healthy competition and encourage new entrants to get into the market.  For a view into just how ridiculous things have become have a read of the following article https://time.com/6102879/semiconductor-chip-shortage-tsmc/. Yeah, I got nothing either and I'm an Elite member. Literally got an email from them like 40 mins ago advertising the 3080 12GB and once I get to the product page, I see that the notifications are disabled. What happened to the 24 hour window for elite members?
