ICX2 will be custom EVGA pcbs including the 9 temp sensors. They wont have these at launch since the XC uses the FE pcb.

I was watching Huang's presentation and the moment he said that the preorders are open today, I was among the people who brought your site down for a bit! Since I've preordered the RTX 2080 Ti XC ULTRA, not knowing how many pieces were available and when they'd run out of stock, and I'm a loyal EVGA customer, I hope I won't get punished for preordering from you and you'll allow me to upgrade to the FTW3 model. I've already been charged for preordering the XC model but I hope it won't be a problem to cancel one preorder and then initiate another one.

There wont be step up from XC ultra to any new icx2 cards. I'm sure the price range for those cards will be more than $1400 initially!

I don't care how much it'll cost, but it's unethical to sell people one model and a week later release a better version of it (no matter the cost) but don't offer them the choice to upgrade. I already have a 1080ti FTW3 and I'm not really happy the cooling.

How is it unethical to sell a card after it is ready for production? It takes time to have the cards designed and manufactured. When they are finished with engineering and production samples, then they can release them.

Nobody is making you buy the first cards released. If you want a better card wait until it comes out then buy it.

And it is iCX2, though apparently the only differences between the iCX2 and non this round are some temperature sensors and the fuse.

I can't remember things so wrong... in the comparison table found here evga.com/articles/01249/evga-geforce-rtx-20-series did every card have the iCX2 ? I remember I preorder 2080ti XC ULTRA thinking it had iCX2. Then I found out EVGA's site was mentioning it had iCX (no number 2). Today I noticed the US site has listed the FTW3 so I requested a cancellation of my XC ULTRA to purchase the FTW edition... but it turns out XC ULTA also has iCX2 just without "additional" thermal sensors and the fuse? I only care about the cooling system, the power consumption and the independent fan control... all that seems to be available for the XC version. Therefore I'm not sure I want to risk braking my motherboard with all the extra weight that comes with the FTW edition!

The XC and XC Ultra have Dual fan cooling, not iCX or iCX2 cooling systems.

Guys you need to get straight what you're selling. At first the info you mentioned was listed on your site, but now it has been changed to "iCX2 Technology" and "iCX2 Cooling" So what is if after all?

I can't find the source right now but as far as I remember one of the EVGA team members told that only difference between XC and CX2 will be additional thermal sensors (a total of 9) and a safety fuse, cooler itself is identical. Also from RTX page in EVGA - " *iCX2 Cooling products do not include additional thermal sensors or a safety fuse. Fans may be asynchronously controlled through Precision X1. "

We have updated it to better clarify what each model has. Really the only difference between the 2 is the additional sensors and the fuse. They both have all the benefits of the redesigned iCX2 cooler.

When I wrote that, I though that since I was charged for the preorder I wouldn't be able to cancel or that the FTW3 would become available a few days after the XC was shipped. Since the FTW3 was already constructed and showcased in events though, this is what I considered unethical. I mean, they advertised the iCX2 and the FTW3 but only gave us iCX1 cards for preorder! Then they updated their site labeling all cards as iCX2 without a fuse and without the extra sensors. Now they've also added the FTW3 so everything's good but a big mess! xD

it seems like 2018 isn't getting better than 2017. Even worse and noisy for tech domain! I mean they enthusiastically says there's gonna be two XC2 version, two fan and FTW3, and just ONE SKU comes out and it's still not available. Yes, I've seen the news that Nvidia delayed the release and so on. This is the problem! Companies are now fine with screwing wtih customers because we're eventually going to buy their's. I've got all my case and PSU etc and no mainboard and GPU just because these companies are fine with shortages happening. I swear in S.Korea I paid for the new Asus z390 Formula and ONLY THREE BOARDS were sold and gone. YES! in S.Korea JUST THREE BOARDS. I got a call from the vendor and they said I had to cancel my order. What the hell is going on? I mean normally do you sell having just a very few amount of product and post it online? I swear this is going to happen more if we as a customers show something. Either let AMD rise so that Nvidia and Intel don't screw with us. Anyway it's been a month and no XC2 notification. Does it even exist at this point?
