Hi,
I just purchased a Samsung CJG5 Series C32JG50 Monitor.  The 32" Gaming monitor they made.  I am using an RTX 2070 XC card.  I had a Samsung television hooked up before through the HDMI, this is the first time I have ever used DP hookup.  There is a perfect picture coming through but no sound. I have been all through many different forums but cannot find any answers to this issue.  Am I missing something? I tried using all three ports on the back and they are all silent.  Windows is showing the sound output through the sound panel, I just can't hear anything. Can anyone help please?

Maybe the op is using headphones as the monitor has a headphone jack.

The OP could use the headphone jack on his computer seems pointless to use the headphone jack on his Monitor.

I think it is more of going from a Television to a Monitor.
Sounds to me that the OP is not using headphone.

But OK.

I agree with BCav, it’s likely because there is no speaker in the monitor. If the OP came from a Television, then they would very likely be used to the sound coming from the television.

Well, looks like we need a little more information from the OP as to what he is trying to use for sound.

Try this .... Device Manager> Sound, video and game controllers> ...if you see more than one device installed "disable" all but the one you want to use. When I update video drivers, even without using nVidia audio drivers, I have to go through these steps because Windows sees the GPU as an audio device and wants to load M.S. drivers. I use a discrete sound card and have to disable the MB's onboard audio (sound) too. Just out of curiosity have you plugged anything into the monitor's headphone jack to see if any sound passes through? Let us know how it goes.

Not many sound cards have DisplayPort out ;-) lol.

Windows shouldn’t load an NVidia GPU with a Microsoft driver if the NVidia audio driver is installed, which I would think the NVidia Audio Driver would be required to utilize audio over DP. If the NVidia audio driver isn’t loaded, I could see windows trying to load MS drivers.

MS doesn't just "try" to load MS drivers, it loads them and makes the GPU the default audio source (and it doesn't warn or give an option). I know because when it happens I can hear sound only from the monitor speakers. When disabling any extra sound sources the discrete sound card sends the audio through my speakers, not the monitor.

Do you need to create your own thread? Your post has nothing to do with this thread then. Not sure why you are talking about discrete sound cards as it isn’t mentioned in this thread.

Please feel free to jump on board with the topic and assist the OP if you would like to help.

I just want to thank you all.  At first I did not realize this monitor did not have speakers.  Then I was having issues after buying a logitech setup, now finally after playing with the default sound source and running cable after cable.. I have sound through my DP.... What really threw me off is that I hooked the monitor the same time the last driver update happened and in the past I lost sound because of updates. I figured that was the issue again, but since the monitor was also new it  didn't dawn on me...  I am good now though! Thanks for all the support! I appreciate it!  Thanks again!

May not be able to push Speakers through the headphone Port.
Being that the Monitor also has no Audio Port you should use the Speaker Port from your Computer.
What is the Model Number of your Logitech sub and speakers System.
On the Speaker and or headphone Port on your computer you can set them but you cannot do this on your Monitor.
Headphone and Speakers have and use difference Impedance
