As the title says.

I've installed the card and not seeing any LEDs on the card at all.  I made sure I connected the 2 cables to their respective LED slots.  Anyone have any ideas?

EVGA X1 still sees my card as a Hybrid, even though I've converted it.

Just drained my loop and pulled the hydro off and verified.  Giving it another shot.

Still no lights on the hydro copper install kit.  Anyone else had this issue?

Did you install and run PX1 to update the LED Firmware?
What Model is your "Hybrid edition of 2080 TI"?
Got it

Never asked to update firmware and I don't see an option to search/force it.

Did you Power Down and turn off the Power Switch on the Power Supply for a few minutes and then power back on and the start PX1?
Sorry I have to ask, some plug it in but not all the way or not at all.
Did you plug in the LED Cable?

Yeah, video card was sitting idle for several hours on the mainboard before it was powered up.   I was curious if I had missed cabling myself.  I took the entire card apart and made sure to reseat it properly.  Didn't change anything.  Sucked having to drain my coolant...

The card is sopposed to light up though. Right? Water and everything are working fine. Just seems boring having this big card doing nothing.

Is this card an upgrade.. as in on the same os you already had px1 installed?

Is so try uninstalling px1 and go into safe mode. Hunt and delete the left over evga folders under the c: drive.. theirs 5 folders total. 1 you cant delete unless your in safe mode.

Some under c program files, program files (x86) and also under user/(your user name)/app data/local and /roaming.

Reboot and reinstall px1.

All that said I'm pretty sure mine lit up on power up the first time before even getting into windows for px1 to do its thing.

Cable might be loose on the other end of the cable where it connects to the board. Or just defective.. sucks.

Would be a super pain to pull it all apart again and attempt to take the top apart to get to the circuit board for the leds.

I'd call evga first to see what they say again before tearing it apart again.

Yup the good old days where one would need to shove a credit card/gift card under ea card when unlocking the pcie slot to keep the cards from locking again before you can yank them all out at once. :/

Yeah I've submitted a ticket for EVGA. Something must be wrong with either the card or the kit. Did a fresh install of windows and x1.

I get frustrated when something doesn't work... almost considered SLI bridging 2 and put this one in the back.

I ended up building out an RMA to have it replaced.  Awaiting it's arrival.  If this doesn't work I'll probably put the water loop back on to see if all LEDs are dead.

Let me know how that goes. I’m dreading tearing my loop down now that I’ve got everything else running. It would be nice if EVGA would RMA both parts and just send me a complete Hydro Copper card for the hassle.

Yeah, same boat.  I was glad to see at least that the video card was working.  I was going to freak out after powering up if it was completely dead.

Converting this thing back to stock.  Still not getting LED.  Seems like the SLI bridge might not be functioning properly either.  Not sure what happened in the conversion process... I'm pretty meticulous about processes.

Re: No LED after installing Hydro Copper on Hybrid edition of 2080 TI 2019/05/10 11:45:39 (permalink)
So here's my story...

Hybrid setup to Hydro Copper

RMA came in, tried it and still no LEDs on the card.
Rebuilt Hybrid back to stock... while working on the rebuild i noticed that the shroud that holds the LED was actually with my faceplate and had been with it the whole time.

I took the connector shroud off and slid it back over the pins and proceeded to finish putting the enclosure back on (yes i did fans).   Once completed I carried it over to my case, the lights came on instantly when I powered the computer up.

So, I was like ah!  Maybe that's why the LED wasn't working (as stupid as it sounds) and rebuilt the card back to Hydro Copper.  Hooked everything back up...  NO LED.

What the hell is going on here?  Did i make a run on a bad batch of Hydro Copper Install Kits?  Or is this graphics card not in love with the conversion process...

So it broke or came off of the PCB, Bummer
But then you plugged in the Connector from the HC did you plug it in backwards and burn out the LEDs?

Yeah looks like he pulled the connector socket off with the wire connector make end. Easy fix is to just pull off the female end and push it back over the pins on the card. But would need to make sure one puts it back on correctly (right dirextion) so the right wires are on the right pins.

Pics when taking the card apart could of helped with figuring out the right direction for the socket.

The cable socket might have a marker on it to line up with the pins on the card. Prob need a magnifying glass or loop to see it on the black cable socket.

I put the connector socket back on and the hybrid setup worked. The RMA hydro did not. There was nothing adhesive wise holding the socket on. I thought nothing of it.

So end result? No LEDs on the hydro with the wire in place?

No adheaive.. just friction holding them.. but the connector is so tight it can pull the socket off removing it. I've done the same with a 1080ti but was able to easily put it back on when I put the stock cooler back on.
