Hi, I had to replace my older PSU to Supernova G3 850W. Now when I try shutting it down, only monitor shuts down. Case fans start spinning faster and getting louder, all mobo lights and GPU lights and fans are active. If I switch to my older PSU, PC shuts down normally. What would the issue be? Specs: Mobo: Gigabyte Z97 MX Gaming 5 GPU: EVGA GTX 980ti SC Older PSU: SeaSonic M12II 750W bronze

Welcome to the Forum Are you using only the Cables that Came with your EVGA Power Supply? You Cannot Mix Your EVGA Cables with your Older SeaSonic Power Supply.

Thanks. Kinda a shame to start with a complaint but the situation asks for it :) All cables have been replaced with ones from the EVGA PSU box. I tried mixing them, but then PC does not even turn on lol. I may be wrong, but it looks like that PC loops through the past-shutdown. In a normal shutdown, all fans get really loud and active right before PC powers off. Here, I see the similar start but it stays... The question is, why old PSU is still fine then? OS: windows 10

"I tried mixing them, but then PC does not even turn on lol." The Damage May have already happened then.

Test 850 G3 Did it come from EVGA with the 24-pin tester -- looks like a "cap for the 24-pin cable" With only the 24-pin cable connected to PSU (not connected to PC) -- when you place that "cap" on the PSU it should Start. remove "cap" PSU should Stop

Cool GTX Is the 850 G3 New ?
Yes. Cool GTX Test 850 G3 Did it come from EVGA with the 24-pin tester -- looks like a "cap for the 24-pin cable" With only the 24-pin cable connected to PSU (not connected to PC) -- when you place that "cap" on the PSU it should Start. remove "cap" PSU should Stop
Tried it. Once the connector was plugged, fans started spinning. Will have to find another PC to test PSU there

When you removed the "cap" did the PSU stop ? Did PSU fan stop or did it stay running with the "cap" removed ?

Should have Stopped Same steps as above .... but Now with cap removed & PSU running -- place "cap back on" does it stop now ? ------------------------------------------- Looks like RMA time if PSU will not turn off Make sure you register the PSU & upload the receipt then Contact EVGA CS -- https://www.evga.com/about/contactus/

Actually, the fan starts spinning after I turn the PSU switch on and not put a cap on. So I guess it's over for it. Lessons learnt... Thanks for help! I will try to settle with the seller first. If nothing good comes out, I will definitely reach out to EVGA CS. :)
