Been a big fan of EVGA for years but I hadn't built a PC in over a decade... Back then, I was on a tight budget and couldn't pack one full of everything I wanted... This time I did... and it was suggested, after posting the new build at my gaming community, that I post about it here. This seems like the appropriate area on the forums, so here goes... I'll start with the specs: Fractal Design R5 Case MSI Z270 Titanium MOBO Intel 7700k 4.2 CPU EVGA 280 Closed Loop CPU cooler EVGA 1080 Hybrid GPU EVGA G3 750 PSU G.Skill Ripjaws (Silver) DDR4 3200 (32G = 4 X 8G) 2 X Samsung 850 EVO, 500GB 2.5" SSD (OS and basic software, set up in Raid 1 - Mirrored drives) 2 X Samsung 960 EVO, 250GB M.2 2280 SSD (1 dedicated to For Honor & 1 dedicated to, as yet, unspecified game(s)) 1 X Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2 2280 SSD (Dedicated to BF1) 3 x 50" Sceptre TV's as Monitors Some Pics: Huge props to EVGA... Every one of their components was insanely well packaged. Every piece was immaculate, installed with ease, and worked like a champ right out of the box! Their supporting software has been excellent as well, very pleased with how everything came together. Well that's my build... I'm not much for colored lights or any of that blingery... So I was also very pleased to find the Flow Control had a setting that kept the LED's white while cool, yellow when running warm, and red when hot... With EVGA monitoring and controlling my temps, the inside of my case has a beautiful, soft white glow at all times. Could not be happier!

Thanks fellas! I was very nervous doing a build myself after such a long break but I took my time, planned everything out, and spent a couple days assembling everything... On the third day, I fired it up, checked for any problems, found none, and spent the rest of the day installing the OS and all the other software. It's the first time I've had/built a PC with no optical drive, so that was strange, but with USB and internet, I didn't see much use for one. This is a gaming rig and the games I play were all downloaded instead of coming in a box with a disc... I must say though, I do miss some things about boxed games. For example, I bought Command and Conquer Red Alert Deluxe and it came with a little pewter tesla soldier, a giant poster, and a Red Alert T-shirt that I wore till it fell apart.

Cool, got it posted but I have to DL 3D mark and update my build with the results... Does it matter if I DL it onto my 850's vs. one of my empty 960's? I've never run benchmark software so I have no idea, but I'd imagine the 3200 max read time from the 960 would score better than the 560 max read time from the 850's.

rjohnson11 Your build looks great as well
Thanks RJ. Yours as well (nice 980TI SLI ♥). I'm working in a new build, already have a Asus Z270G and the I7 7700K. For the next months I should get a set of TridentZ RGB 16gb 3200, 2x m.2 Intel 600p 1Tb (Raid0 intended), and an EVGA PSU (didn't choose yet, since I'm from Brazil and choices are not so good because of the prices here..). All will be mounted on a T.T. View 27. GenSeneca IDK what they mean but... Graphics score = 7439 Graphics test 1 = 48.19 FPS Graphics test 2 = 42.89 FPS CPU score = 5249 FPS CPU test = 17.64 FPS
running 3D Mark have some different tests to run. There is the normal FireStrike (1080p), FireStrike Ultra (for 4K testing and score if I'm not wrong). Anyway, you should always run at the preset configs that 3dMark gives you, so it can be validated. After the several tests (Graphics test, physics test, etc) this will give you a final score, that can be compared with other persons on the web, or even in to compare to yours. Looking at your scores, I would say that was from FireStrike Ultra, or even TimeSpy if you're running at Windows 10. Edit: Here what I was trying to explain (attached). Yeah, it was time spy... after it finished running, there was some triangled "!" on the results page saying I wasn't using a graphics driver that it recognized as being valid... I looked and it's the latest Nvidia Geforce driver. Scanned for update with Gefore experience and it said my driver was up to date... Did another scan with MSI live update and it too said all my drivers were up to date. No idea what the "!" was about. Do I understand correctly that you need the "premium" version of 3D mark to post and link the results to my mods rig page?

My mods rigs needs an update in the worse possible way. I just need to find time to do it but first I need to order a part.

I hear this a LOT but without longer cords, IDK what I could do to better "manage" them... The ones that go from the PSU to behind the MOBO are stretched to their limit, like the 24 pin and SATA data and PWR cables, Fan and pump leads etc. I can't do much about the cooling hoses, they are VERY rigid, and have nowhere to go... I could tie up the ones at the bottom of the board, the USB, Front panel connector, and fan lead going to the front, but realistically, that's about 2" in length, max, worth of "bundling". *Edit* I think a lot of people suggesting better cable management are thinking standard mid tower size case... This Fractal R5 is the largest "mid" tower case I've ever seen. Unless you see one in RL, it's hard to appreciate the size difference between the R5 and a standard mid tower case.

Nice looking build Routing the cables to make them look clean as possible or hidden from view can be a challenge; mostly trial and error to select the best route and some cases are harder than others

Pics are no problem, except that I have to resize all of them to be small enough for the upload limit... That's why I just posted the collage photo, it was much easier to resize one photo than a whole bunch of them. As for scores... I'd asked before but don't know I ever got an answer... Do you need to pay for the version of firestrike that allows score to be linked and posted? It seemed like that was the case, based on what it said after I ran time spy... If it is, screw that... I don't care that much about it.
