Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2021/05/03 14:28:28 (permalink)
I think I've been hanging out in the queues too long as I am quite enjoying the audio-only broadcast of the Epic v. Apple trial, despite the bad audio quality of the feed. The only thing that would make it better is if there was an actual card drop going on. It's been about four days now, and I am starting to take the dearth of cards personally.

Last week's Tuesday was Titanic; let's hope for a repeat of the same tomorrow.

Have a good night!

Nice movie reference. And in the neither looking nor feeling good vein, I saw an article citing 3080ti cards listed at 2500 NZD (about 1825 USD). And the fun continues!

If you haven't signed up for the queue yet, you may as well wait for a new SKU to launch and try to get in on launch day. None of the existing ones are getting to you anytime soon at the current rate if you signed up today.

I'm not sure that would make a huge difference.  A rough guess I'd place around 350,000-500,000 cards left to fulfill the queue.  This is based on the total queue count and that a good chunk of people are queued for multiple cards, with intention of only buying one or two.

On a sidenote, it appears our externally visible queue number has been removed.  IIRC it was over 3.5m not long ago.

This email is being sent in response to your request to be notified with availability updates for product 24G-P5-3987-KR and this product was marked as being in stock on 1/27/2021 at 9:56 AM PST.
That was for my 24G-P5-3987-KR .

Now the part that sucked.... I was so over loaded with work i didn't even notice the email for 3 days after it was sent... Needless to say i didn't get to order one. :(

Amazingly, I was selected in today's Newegg Shuffle (first time ever).  Unfortunately, it was for the Evga 3070 FTW3 Ultra -- which won't fit in my NCASE M1 case without my having to remove the front I/O and use low-profile power adapters.  My card of choice is one of the 3080 XC3 models, or secondly, one of the 3070 XC3 models.  I signed up for the shuffle thinking I might break down and live with the inconvenience the FTW3 would cause with my case.

Ultimately, I decided I didn't want to settle for a GPU that wasn't really what I wanted and would make me not use my computer case as I want (plus pay more for the 3070 FTW3 bundle) just because of the rough GPU times we are living in.  And I didn't want to take advantage of the situation to purchase and sell the GPU.  So, I let my window to purchase expire.  I hope it fell to someone who is really going to purchase the card for their own use and not scalp it.  I guess I'll go back to hoping for a 3080 XC3 around 2022.

Welp, looks like this might justify the shade thrown towards EVGA's partner contracts.  Hard to argue against prioritizing the queue when some partners abuse their contracts like this

Bit of a late response but just ordered with your code Enewt, had some issues trying to log into EVGA from my phone while at work and I had to wait for customer service to get back to me since I missed the window.

Congratulations on your waterlogged kit.

Thanks for reporting back and thanks for using the Associate’s Code for your discount at checkout; it is appreciated. Enjoy!

Now I just need the KP  I'm only 11 spots away according to the spreadsheet but they have not dropped many cards since early March. I hope they are not all being saved for the HC KP.

Congratulations!  When did you get the e-mail notification to purchase?

Sorry for the late response, I got the notification on Friday

Memory Express had a drop today of EVGA 3060's. Hopefully that will extend to the queue in the next few days. Unfortunately I wasn't fast enough with ME so my wait in the queue continues.

With this type of stuff, plus the time it'll take to "ramp up production" we may as well just sign up for the queue and forget about it for a few years while we get on with our lives.

RIP, I have an NCASE and 3070 FTW3. Your not losing much with the front IO and if you get a custom power switch its so easy to install the card. The adapters are a few $ on amazon.

lordrichter it's not a token effort at all. I have received notification of a 3090, 3080, and 3070 XC Ultra card. Ended up getting the 3070. Also recieved notification I could buy 2 3060s. This system works great. All the better the earlier you sign up. I'll be signing up for the 3080 ti queue as well as that is what I am really wanting. EVGA is really doing the gaming community a service by offering this queue system and has build alot of brand loyalty for me at least. I have gone with them almost exclusively since my 1080 ti purchase at launch and have been very happy with their products and their company as a whole.

It works great if you happen to be there in the first couple of days, which really isn't saying anything at all.  Most people find out about the list when they come looking for a card, and chances are that does not happen during the couple days of the year when getting on the list might actually get them one.  They see the list, think, hey this is a great idea, and sign up.  It is only after that when realization hits that they needed to be there 6 months ago, not today.  They put their name on a list and it will never get called.  How does that work great?  It does not.   It barely works at all.

As an EVGA customer for the last decade that has only used EVGA graphics cards in builds and upgrades for myself and my family...  If I have any message for EVGA before I depart these forums, it is "do better next time".

im sorry for you an an evga customer for the last decade and didnt sign up for notify when ampere launched and joined in after the fact.. do u mean being a customer in the last decade that u should get priority over people who woke up early to sign up first (which by the way are more in numbers than you can imagine). boo hooo.. sorry evga doesnt follow your entitlement philosophy.. maybe you can go to zotac n cry a river sob story with them n they'll let you buy a card. just because you were lazy doesnt mean the queue isnt working. it is working .. hundreds of thousands of people ahead of you have gotten card.. next time try not to be so entitled n expect a silver spoon to be fed in your mouth

Lol you haters crack me up. You think you deserve a card first because you got out of bed early one day out of the year and call that work.

The queue could work better, but it’s really hard to figure out what works best. Someone may only buy EVGA, but they only buy one mid-level product every year, VS another customer who buys top-tier product every year, but also buys other brand gear in equal or greater quantity.

Who’s the better customer?

I don’t know much about marketing, but I would guess the customer who’s going to buy more product in the future is the answer. Going by historical trend, it has to be the person or entity who spent the most on evga product in the past. Weighted by products with the highest margin.

Is that fair? I don’t think so.

So I would say the queue system as implemented is a fair way to give the average person a good crack at getting a card, but it could be improved by giving some advantages to existing elite members or even non-elite who purchased before VS the newly elite and never purchased before.
