I have been folding since 2011 off and on based on the season of year. However I have never folded for any real team until last year and I have not been on any forum at all. I for some reason was really interested in folding in high school and always wanted to build the best computer I could to get to helping the research. I am not on EVGA's team as of yet but in a few days probably by Saturday, once I complete a prior goal I have set I will change my clients to join this team. I have decided to join a forum because I do have some questions that I don't have a whole lot of time to do research in order to answer them. If someone could help point me in to which forum would be best for client settings on older machines that would be great.

Folded all night on a 1080 and only got 26k point despite PPD estimate being 10x higher? Cannot figure out why. Not running cpu fold.  Further the desktop client doesnt function. try to go into any pop up menu its just blank and freezes. Ideas?

Did you enter your Passkey and have completed 10 or more WUs?
Is the Slider All the Way to the Right set to Full?
 
 Your Stats  Looks like you have only Completed 5 WUs to date.

That'd be why, not at 10 WU. Will happen tonight. Then I suspect earn points at proper rate.
 
Has anyone else had an issue with the windows client not working. stop responding whenever I try to change things. the popup menu don't have any information, just blank?

Yep, you will get a lot more points once you finish 10 WUs.
I never experienced those problems with the menu, but you can try to pause the CPU slot. If it fixes the problem, you need to lower the priority or number of cpu cores used for folding.

I havent been running the CPU slot, not worth the power output. However, the menus dont work at all. I cant use any of the drop-downs/pop-ups. its all just blank or frozen partial.

Well, I'm up and running now, so here I am!
 
I'm going to start small time for now, but I'll definitely be doing more once I'm able to build my next computer. I might just go ahead and get a GTX 1070 instead of a 1060 6GB, for the sake of folding (from figures I looked at, it looks like it's very good at folding). It seems like a worthwhile investment.

Been a while for me Folding, We have a lot of other Crunching Events going on ATM.

New folder here. Loving it! Feels good to contribute to a good cause! 
 
I started folding a couple of weeks ago. Realized I needed to change my folding name to match my forum name about a week in (doh!)

Well I joined a few months ago but I thought I should say hello.  I am folding with a 1080 TI now, but I was using a RX480.  I just try to hit my 4 million each month to help out.

Pause the CPU and see if you can start the GPU.
What CPU do you have?
For the Most Part Folding two Cores is not worth the Cost of Electricity for the time it will take to complete.
You also have your Client Tool (Folding Power) set to Light and not enough Cores on the CPU to Fold on the GPU at the Same Time.
