Yeah, I think any better PPD will have to come with the next client update.  Till then I think this is respectable, which is kind of the ongoing theme of the entire build.  I'll be leaving it alone over night while I am on shift, and see how I do.

I've been folding since late April 2012.  My two rigs are as follows: first on is a core i5 with 8gb ram and dual 460's in sli.  The two 460's will be water cooled in the near future.  The second is a core i7 with 16gb ram and dual 448 FTW's.  The future plan will be to water cool the 448's as well.  Just need time and money - when I have one I'm missing the other!  LOL!
The core i5 rig folds 99% of the time.  The core i7 rig folds when I'm not gaming.

RIG 1: Core i7 870; Corsair H70; XFX PRO1050 Black Edition; MSI P55-GD65 mobo; 16GB 1600MHz Patriot G Series Sector 5 Ram; Dual EVGA GTX 560Ti 448 FTW SLi; EKWB Full GPU Waterblocks; D5 Vario Pump; XSPC Dual Bayres; OCZ Vortex 2 240GB SSD; WD 1TB HD; Cooler Master HAF 932
RIG 2: Core i5 760; Corsair H60; Corsair HX850; EVGA 120-LF-E651 mobo; 8GB 1333MHz OCZ Gold Edition Ram; Dual EVGA GTX460 FTW SLi; EKWB Full GPU Waterblocks; DDC Pump; XSPC DDC Res Top; WD 500GB HD; Cooler Master HAF 912

Welcome scaccima.

Was wondering why your name sounded familiar, we've been back-and-forth passing each other on the EOC stats page the past couple days, lol.

Welcome to the new folders.

Hello Horvat, just wondering how long you've been folding to amass over 78,000,000 points?  Do you use multiple rigs?
Thanks!

I just noticed his sig says "7 X Dual Hex Core Servers (8th in progress)". Holy cow.
I thought my little i7 was cool.

Hi guys,
I've been folding for evga since late march 2012 but this is my first post.  Right now I'm folding with my home machine (2600k @stock) and my work machine (HP Z620 w/ Dual E5-2630<--12 cores/24 threads).  I fold on my home machine when I can.  My work machine I just let it fold while I'm working on it and all night when I leave the office.  I'm using the v7 client in win 7 and Im wondering if there's anything special I need to do other than just letting it run to maximize folding.  On my work machine I've been getting ~16000 credit items that take around 8-9 hours to complete.

Coolermaster HAF-X, ASUS Maximus IV Extreme, i7 2600k (Noctua NH-D14), EVGA GTX 670 FTW, 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws x @1866, 1TB WD Caviar Black, Corsair HX850, DELL U2410

Hello everyone. I started folding at the end of may when my new build was completed, about to reach my first 350k month even though I missed the 1st week of June due to vacation...nearing half a mil total points. Is 73-76K PPD good for a 17-2600K @ 4.6 and 2 570 SC's?

Just switched from BOINC to Folding @ Home, glad to be part of the team and look forward to racking up points with my GTX 680. Was going to join HardOCP, but here I can get EVGA Bucks to put towards my next build & further the folding effort.

Hi guys, just checked in and started Folding@Home with EVGA!
A bit complicated to get started, guides are not very clear and not up to date. Also found quite irritating that there's an issue with the Kepler GPUs (I've got a GTX 680). I worked everything out and it says around 45k - 49k PPD running 6 (out of 12) threads of my 3930k at 4.2Ghz and my GTX 680. Is this good for a rig like mine?

Gigabyte X79-UD5 - Intel i7 3930k @ 4.2Ghz  (most of the time) - Noctua NH-D14 SE2011  - G.Skill Ripjaws Z 16GB 2133Mhz - EVGA GTX 680 - Cooler Master Silent Pro 1200W - Cooler Master HAF X - Intel SSD 520s 120GB - Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 1TB

Welcome Andrew

only 6 of 12?
with 12 of 12 on the 3930k you can get 50K alone on the cpu with straight SMP
Id suggest running cpu on all threads with or without the GPU

if you wish to go to linux and run bigadv smp's you could do 140k
on the CPU

Im currently running a 3930k doing bigadv on linux (dual boot win7 & linux mint)

PS: WELCOME ALL NEW MEMBERS

Re:New EVGA Folder Check-IN 2012/07/13 07:29:54 (permalink)
I used to fold on my PS3 a couple of years ago (I started out on the Playstation.com Forums team before switching to my school's team), but stopped when the noise from it constantly running in my dorm room became too much (I have one of the original 60GB PS3s which are extremely loud). I built a new computer for research/gaming about a month ago and just started folding on my EVGA GTX 670 (I switched to the EVGA team as well). I'm currently about 5% through done with my first workunit and everything seems to be running great. I might do some folding on my CPU later, but I'm currently using the stock cooler and when I started the SMP client my core temperatures shot up to 80 almost instantly so I'm going to hold off on that until I get an aftermarket cooler.

I'm happy to be contributing to a great cause once again.

EVGA Folding Team - Just started folding last night.  Pretty excited to see my first work unit completed!  I know that many of you are "old hat" at this - but it is exciting to see it starting.  I was planning on waiting until I get my dedicated folding rig up and running - but since I only use my main rig for a coule hours a day, why not use it while I'm not there?  Still have quite a bit to learn and make sure that I have it all set up right, but so far, so good.  Looking forward to moar and moar folding!

EDIT:  My certificate for my first work unit.  Now proudly hanging in my office.  Here's to many moar!

Welcome to the team! Some of us may be "old hat" but I personally still get excited whenever I fire up a new rig for folding. If you have any questions, dont hesitate to ask!

<--- See those Folding numbers? Ask me about how you can get them too!

welcome aboard
if you have question don't be shy to ask us

either use FAH gpu tracker or V7
and make sure you have a passkey (for SMP bonus)

I just downloaded the "All Versions" from the home page. Where do I find a passkey?

Edit: Scratch that, I found the passkey webpage.

What is the difference between GPU tracker and V7?
