yea, thats why I didn't order the titan xp blocks, wanted to wait for 1080ti specific blocks, so now hopefully they ship out on the 12th like EK said they would. Then again, the only card that EK physically tests with is the Nvidia FE, everyone other card is by visual inspection so there's still that 1% that they "may" not be 100% =P.

Then just get this one EK-FC Titan X Pascal  [3831109831663]

Aesthetically I prefer the ti card and prefer it moreso than I care about the copper block. But my preference would be a copper ti. (I know, silly preferences)

Actually, the top that says GTX 1080 Ti can be place over the SLI Water Block; it is separate. You can just remove the hose adapters below it and place the "SLI Water Block"

That is why I said they are a waste for users who a going SLI.

Meaning you can still place the cover above... don't have to remove it. You are saying it needs to be removed.

When was the last time nickel flaked? I've been using nickel for 4 years, never seen a single flake.

The only times they've had flake issues was years ago when they had either a bad batch or process and since than have been fine.

The other existing issue with nickel is folks using DYI fluids like distilled and silver.  EK has warned about the use of distilled and silver.  The nickel starts to break down or at least oxidization ensues, just like on my copper cpu blocks and a few QDC fittings.  I've since switched to clear pre-mixed fluid from Aquacomputer.

So interestingly, the 1080 ti says that the left side of the block should be used as an inlet port and the right side as an outlet port. This was not the case for the Titan X or the 1080 blocks, which both said "you can use any opening as an inlet/outlet port. Any guess at the reason for the difference?

In general you can use either or but they basically are saying to let the liquid get to the GPU first before going to the VRMs and the rest.

Makes sense, but funny they would say that now vs. previous generations. Good call though.

In all actuality it doesn't really matter since the loop will reach a equilibrium after say 30 mins.  If you want to shave a few degrees, I'd have it to go to the CPU first and than the GPU since CPU's are more sensitive.  That's how I have mine set up as.

That's relevant to the bridge you're using.  If configured wrong, not enough flow for a GPU can result in overheating.

The contact surfaces are exactly the same. There is no difference as far as i could find between the actual blocks. The only differences are the terminal side looks cooler, and no DVI port cutout.

This is a limitation of the bridge though, not the block. Whereas, the 1080 ti block instructions (vs the 1080 and titan x instructions) say that the flow has to be left to right for best performance.

Anyways, it's an interesting point and one I hadn't considered previously. In all likelihood I will continue to run my blocks right to left in parallel.

Agree with you 100%. I don't use an SLI block and won't use one with my ti's. But if you do use one this should be noted.

Also worth noting is that the dual serial SLI block in your picture would actually be a less efficient setup according to the ti manual.

It is a EK-FC BRIDGE TRIPLE Serial not the Duel and I used it to keep my Cards at x16 Gen3 on my Motherboard.
What "ti manual." ?

I wasn't talking about your setup I was talking about the diagrams of other sli blocks you posted.

The manual EK published to go with the ti blocks. It's on their website (on my phone otherwise I would link to it for you).
