Are you using Windows 11? If so, this post might help (look through the thread for my post) Otherwise, check out the troubleshooting sections in the FAQ here.

I got the "EVGA NuAudio init error 0x00001" and had to basically install twice. Works great EXCEPT that on boot the app launches (not just to system tray but the full app). I have to manually close it each time. The previous driver versions didn't have this behavior.

Go into the app setup menu (gear on the upper right of the UI) and check the 'Start Minimized' box and press 'Apply'.

I have basically the same problem. It used to work fine, but now on only a couple of web pages, it refuses to send a signal to the SPDIF. Even on the NU audio control, the Graphic does not show any %of volume. switch to headphones or a desktop speaker and it is fine. There has to be something triggering on just those few websites. Also, I believe it possible to just find some setting somewhere that would resolve this. And of course, this only started recently, probably with the latest Driver update

Update on the SPDIF issue. This is a Youtube page, which I got thinking, I listen to youtube music frequently without problem, but using the 'Brave' browser. SO, I tried the link in brave and it worked, I went back to Edge and it still didn't work. I then copied a link to a music file on youtube and opened it in a new tab in edge and that worked fine, but ALSO at the same time, this other offending page started working. There has to be something in the digital signal that is causing this to flake out. I will try it again after another reboot and possibly wait a few days to see if it comes back or if it is totally resolved.
PS the offending page is a lecture as opposed to music.

I read this entire string. My desktop also has had issues with the Nu Audio driver and software. But the onboard Realtek also has installation and functionality issues. These problems are usually after a Windows 10 update, new software installing or some software updates. I use Macrium to save an image of the Windows 10 SSD when all is well and before making changes to the desktop so I can easily return to a prior state. Using multiple SSDs make this a short time investment. However, some background updates sneak in and suddenly Nu Audio is gone or malfunctioning. Sometime mid Aug 2022 Windows 10 executed some updates. Afterwards the Nu Audio totally disappeared and Windows 10 OS would not allow the any re-installation of the latest Nu Audio drivers etc. I returned the desktop to a prior state and let Windows 10 install it's updates again. Afterwards all worked fine. These pc's and their OS systems and software used are truly weird. I understand the pain many of you endure. I'm a musician of the classics, consider myself an audiophile. I've been building desktops since the IBM X86 thus have some experience. Further, I am using the desktop as part of the total audio listening hardware system experience. The Nu Audio feeds into a high end separates audio system. The Nu Audio sound is by far the cleanest most precise audio for the dollar. I have exactly same issue with Windows 11. I have Lenovo Legion T7 34IMZ5. other people on reddit posted some issues with the sound card which is the same i've experienced. not sure if EVGA support can figure it out or not. :(

Hi Lee - any chance we’ll be getting updated Nu Audio drivers this year? I have managed to get a hold of a new Nu Audio card directly from Audio Note, and would very much appreciate it if the outstanding issues could be corrected so my card would fully work as-intended, at least until a new generation of Nu Audio cards can be produced. Update: So I installed the Nu Audio card and the latest drivers and it all works perfectly on: Edition Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 OS build 22621.1555 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22640.1000.0 The software install went without a hitch. My PC rebooted twice, the firmware updated, and that was it. JRiver Media Center 30.0.91 (64-bit) is serving up the music and it’s set to use Nu Audio [WASAPI] so there is no resampling; if the card can’t play an audio file’s bit rate natively, the music won’t play. Right now I’m listening to Citizen Steely Dan over my gaming headphones connected via the front panel header, and it sounds amazing. I hear no background noise or interference whatsoever. I tried my Grado headphones plugged into the headphone jack on the back of the card yesterday and it was amazing how the Nu Audio could drive them way louder than I would ever listen with them. Now I’m just waiting for the Zu Audio RCA cables to come so I can connect the card to the Hughes AK-100 SRS, and the AK-100 to the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1s - really looking forward to that experience. I very much hope EVGA can get back to producing Nu Audio cards again, because I would absolutely be a repeat customer, and I would let all my friends know exactly what they should be putting in their PCs. Thanks to everyone at both EVGA and Audio Note for an amazing product.

LOL... It's a dead product. There will be no resurgence of active support, hell, the pro card is still running on 1.0.3. These cards aren't even recognized on the main page anymore. I stop in once a year, give or take, notice how **** EVGA's commitment to ongoing support actually is, get pissed and walk away for another year. No matter good the promise of this hardware, it was undercut by an absolute lack of support.

Active product support in the form of regular software updates and drivers. That's not really EVGA's strong suit. The Nu Audio Pro is still running 1.0.3. The audio cards are discontinued. They no longer appear on the main product page. They are EOL from a product perspective. I don't care about email tech support. They certainly didn't help me when upgrading from 1.0.2 broke functions in my last card... They seemed to believe my system settings were at fault. Amazon helped tho. It's funny, replacing that card fixed my problem immediately.

I hope EVGA will stay in business and restart the Nu Audio line of audio cards because I am delighted with mine and would be interested in buying an upgraded card should they offer one.
I’m also quite happy with the SuperNOVA P+ 1600 Watt power supply in my FNW Talon, and should EVGA continue making power supplies I’d choose another EVGA power supply for my next gaming PC.

Anyone have issues with their nu audio pro mic not working? At least for me it's weird with MW2 when doing the mic test in-game. Mic doesn't work on Fortnite either. And with MW2 after while of playing there will be some static noise. I tried moving the card to another pci-e slot and still the same issue. Tried wiping the driver and software and reinstalling it but problem still persists. Decided to remove the card in run off the on-board audio and all issues are gone. Such a shame...had audio switching (from speaker to headphone)problems with the first NU Audio card so they RMA and upgraded it to the NU Audio Pro 3 years ago and now this is problem. Just checked warranty and it's expired! So frustrating.

Try adjusting the mic boost. Sometimes I have to turn it on in the NU Audio app and back off again to get the mic to work. I've not had a chance to wipe the software and reinstall to try to fix it yet.

What sample rate are you using? Use audio output and mic input of 16-bit with 44.1 or 48 kHz sampling rate for best compatibility and most favorable results. Any higher is a gimmick and causes problems. I hope it is that simple. It sometimes is. If the problem is something else, well, what will EVGA do to assist? Not to dwell on the "gimmick" part, but to explain, 44.1 and higher ensures that every human-perceivable sound is reproduced. Not only does it ensure it, but it also mathematically guarantees that it will be reproduced exactly. You can't get any better than guaranteed by design. Therefore, higher sample rates have no benefit, create larger file sizes for no reason, create incompatibility for no reason, often sacrifice sound quality of what humans can hear in order to create manageable file sizes and system bandwidth to store sound information about what humans can't hear anyway, and are pointless because your headphones, speakers, and microphones can't operate at those high frequencies anyway. There is no reason to perfectly reproduce ultrasonic sound that you can't hear; therefore, stick with the lowest sampling rate necessary. Similarly, bit depth is related to human hearing limits and relates to noise floor and signal to noise ratio. All human-perceivable sounds and attenuation limits fit within 16 bits. Stick with what has the widest support and isn't taxing on your system for no reason.

When using Discord when playing PUBG - when someone enters the channel on Discord either my in game audio stops working or I can't hear other people speak in Discord. The only way to fix is to manually either leave the game channel and enter back into the original channel if no Discord sound, or if no in game audio I have to right click the little speaker icon in bottom right of screen for sound settings and change speaker output from speakers to SPDIF and then back to speakers. Sometimes I have to do this several times per gaming session. How about an updated driver fix EVGA?????? Its 2023 and there's been no driver updates since 2020??? Come on dudes.

I have no issues with gaming and Discord using the NU Audio Pro, other than needing to change the mic boost in the Nu Audio app upon reboot to get the mic to work. I've got a headset connected to the headset and mic connectors, as well as some speakers connected to the RCA jacks and switch between the two using the Nu Audio app. @bret042772, what peripherals are you using and how are they connected? Also, what driver version are you using? Is it a Pro card?

I'm using the latest driver from the EVGA website 0.2.1.14. I'm running Windows 11. I have the EVGA NuAudio, the original not pro. I have everything plugged in correctly from my speakers and headset. It appears to me to have problems with either PUBG and discord running together for some reason or two audio sources at the same time. The latest driver version on EVGA's website for windows 11 came out in 2020, why no update? Clearly this is bug and its annoying. My computer setup is an AMD Ryzen 9 5900x, MSI X570 unify motherboard, 32 GB DDR4 3600mhz ram cl16, Sapphire 6900xt GPU, 3 x 2TB M.2 NVME Gen4 drives, Sennheiser GSP 600 headset, Kanto powered 2.0 speakers with a subwoofer output, etc, etc. This has been annoying for a long time. I have re-installed windows a few times and I can't figure out what the problem is. This soundcard is awesome sounding, I love it, but these glitches need to be worked out and not having a driver update since 2020 is ridiculous.

BizSAR Any luck?
Still no luck. Still having problems with Discord. I don't think its the game, its definitely having issues with Discord. When someone pops in or out of the same Discord game channel I'm in, I lose the audio source and have to leave that channel and come back in constantly. This is a completely new installation of Windows 11. Clearly this is a driver issue with Discord and EVGA needs to fix this if they are ever going to get my business again. This is an awesome sounding card, best I've ever had but the lack of driver support for this expensive sound card is concerning. I bought an EPOS GSX 1000 2nd edition external DAC/AMP and no more issues with Discord.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. The only issue I'm currently having on the Pro card in Discord (or anywhere else) is related to the mic boost, but I can fix that upon Windows boot.

EVGA is on a path to go out of business. They exited GPU and Motherboard Market. We won't see any new EVGA motherboards for Intel 15th gen CPUs coming out in 2024. Once retailers are out of stock of current EVGA motherboards, that will be it. Customers are still waiting for BIOS update to support Intel 14th Gen CPU's. EVGA NU Audio owners are probably worried about future updates too.

bret042772 Clearly this is a driver issue with Discord and EVGA needs to fix this if they are ever going to get my business again.
EVGA is in the process of going out of business. They have no business to defend and no products are being updated or fixed.
This, of course, is NOT true. Not sure where you got your information, but they are most certainly not going out of business.
EVGA is going out of business. It will go out of business; and it has started the process of going out of business by ceasing manufacture of almost every product and ending software and firmware support of all products. There are so many unanswered requests for software or firmware updates in so many different forum sections. Nothing. Support is dead. The products are dead. EVGA is just waiting for the warranty periods to expire for the majority of customers before announcing their closure. EVGA's owner has announced that the company is going out of business. Not directly, but he said that he isn't selling the company or passing it onto anyone, he wants to retire, and he won't live forever. Conclusion is: EVGA will go out of business and it is very obvious that we have progressed far down that path. Look at the Precision section. Dead. No ongoing support. Look at the 690 and 790 sections. Dead. No ongoing support other than empty promises for 4 weeks. Look at the keyboard section. Dead. No ongoing support for product-breaking firmware problems. Look at the capture device section. Dead. No ongoing support for product-breaking firmware problems. Look at this section. Likewise. And that's just a short list, excluding the products we already knew were end of life. Almost every product which EVGA claims they are still selling and supporting, don't seem to be for sale any more and don't seem to be supported any more. There is no reason the OP would consider buying an EVGA product in the future. There is likely no EVGA product for them to buy in the future, even if they wanted to. The OP's threat of boycotting EVGA means nothing to EVGA. EVGA simply does not care about anything other than fulfilling the minimum of their obligations. They don't have the people, products, or finances to care.

Retailers already pulled down all EVGA motherboards.
