As title.
I have two cards (EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti ACX 2.0+), one works well, one make my PC hangs at boot with black screen.
I have tried everything, one card works ok, one card make my PC hang.
This happened when I was playing, PC shut down and the card stopped working.
Please open an advanced RMA and send me a working card.
I have a SLI so please send me the same card, if you don't have the same card I can pay a difference for a GTX1080 Ti.

I have registered the card on January 10th 2015, is my warrenty still valid?

Please help.

EDIT:
Here a recap with correct infos coming from the invoices.

Invoice 1:
2 x EVGA GeForce GTX 980 SC (19 september 2014)

Invoice 2:
Step up from invoice 1 to two EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti ACX 2.0+ (23 september 2015)

If I read here:
https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/

I read this:
"EVGA will automatically register your product so you will receive the full warranty on your Step-Up (as of 1/1/11)"

Where is my full warrenty? EVGA don't want to recognize me the full warrenty because they said me in a ticket I opened with their customer care:
"The original product with the S/N 1234 is already out of warranty, so the step-up product which carrries over the same warranty as the original product 3 years from 19.09.2014 is out of warranty aswell."

Hey guys have you read what you have written here?
https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/

it's written:
"EVGA will automatically register your product so you will receive the full warranty on your Step-Up (as of 1/1/11)"

I want my warrenty.

No I don't paid for 5 years. It seems that for one month I lost my warranty.
This is really unlucky. There is no sense to pay full price for a 1080 ti now and there is no way to find a 980ti at a good price now.

    What should I do now?

the most irritating thing is that EVGA said me that it is safe to overclock the card width the default EVGA Precision settings.
My OC was so mild, 1350MHz with power target set to 110%.
is this the safe overclock that EVGA was talking about?

    pretty disappointed.

I don't think that I will overclock their card anymore...

I rechecked my invoice and I don't know why there is an error on the my products page.

I have the invoice of the step up that shows 09/23/2015
I remember that it can't be january when I stepped up.
I have even the email with Chris Becivenga that proves that.

Why is it wrong on the site?

If you properly registered your step-up card then when you go to my products and then choose 'show details' you'll see the serial numbers of EVGA items you bought. Make sure you select the correct seriual number of your item. Underneath the picture of the item it has the warranty information. If it says 3 years warranty then your item is warrantied from the date of the stepup. If it says 2 years then you're out of warranty.

If you have an uncertainties then please contact EVGA tech support for assistance.

    it says 3 year warrenty.
do you know if EVGA have 980tis for replacement or those cards are out of stock?

I have a SLI and I need exactly the same card or two better cards even by paying a difference.

Contact EVGA. There is no use having us speculate about information for which we don't have access. If your cards are under warranty, make sure that you tell EVGA over and over and over again that you need a SLI replacement.

This is a user-to-user forum. None of us can really help you. EVGA representatives sometimes appear here, but usually not.

It's doubtful that the overclock caused it to fail. Things just fail; there's no need to cast blame.

Ok they answered and I am pretty disappointed. this is their answer.
    -----------
    Hello,

i have corrected the date of purchase. Unfortunately you are over the 90 day period to be eligible for a step-up.

The original product with the S/N 1234 is already out of warranty, so the step-up product which carrries over the same warranty as the original product 3 years from 25.09.2014 is out of warranty aswell.

    Kind regards,
    ------------

I have stepped up my cards on 10th september 2015, those cards have three year warrenty, why I am out of warrenty now?
Why the stepped up card should carry the same warrenty? I have paid 400 euros for the step up and I received new cards.

I am really disappointed. This is my last EVGA product.

A step-up doesn't reset the warranty start date.  The warranty terms and dates are based on the original card purchase.

I bought two GTX980 on 25.09.2014, on august 2015 one of that card failed to run the standard overclock and EVGA permitted me to stepup by paying 400 euros to two GTX980 Ti.
So I paid 400 euros on september 2015 for two new stepped up card.
Now they don't recognize my warrenty.

I am very disappointed. They lost a customer and surely I will spread the word of this on forums.

Well....it IS just a bit unclear when you read the actual text of the step-up program. What it actually says is "EVGA will automatically register your product so you will receive the full warranty on your Step-Up (as of 1/1/11)"

As the Step-Up product is a brand new in box product, why wouldn't it have the full warranty as a new product?  It probably wouldn't hurt for EVGA to clarify this a bit.

Everything I see says that the original warranty, optional extended warranty, and optional advanced RMA, transfers to the step-up product for the original buyer.

It sounds like EVGA already did a nice thing by offering a step-up a YEAR after purchase instead of the regular 90-days.  Why use that with tangled words as ammunition against them?!

This is what I expect from a paid brand new product.
I paid the step up, they didn't donated me anything.

When I stepped up I read this:
"EVGA will automatically register your product so you will receive the full warranty on your Step-Up"
so now I would like to get my full warrenty

EVGA offered me a step up by paying good money for it.
I payed good money for the step up, I haven't received any donation.
If they allowed me to step up after 10 months is due to the fact that they sold me two cards that are not able to run at default frequency.
They should pay me because I was their beta tester with my money.

    lol

    Have a good day! Later!

Step-ups always cost money. You have to pay for the difference in price between the two cards. No matter your opinion or circumstances, your warranty expired 4 months ago.

Sorry, that is not the case. Your warranty is expired.

Please show me what is confusing.

Go ahead and complain to your friends elsewhere.

This is the phrase that confuse people:
"EVGA will automatically register your product so you will receive the full warranty on your Step-Up"
... and sincerely, if I buy a fresh new product, I would expect the full warrenty as any normal people.

Nothing there applies to your region. It could say something about horses and rainbows, for all I care, but it still wouldn't be applicable to you. You need to look in the EU warranty and EU step-up terms for which I provided you a link.

Ok I get your point, but I don't accept this.
I stepped up from EVGA.com, I paid to US using dollars, so I want the warrenty I read on the evga.com site. Who knows that they have different pages for different regions, I paid in US dollars, I contacted them using English, it's not clear that we have different warrenty.

This thread is important because people should know how things works here.

I'm from Italy, if I search EVGA Step UP, google doesn't redirect me to eu.evga.com but to evga.com so they don't even have an automatic redirect based on the region. I want my warrenty and I will not stop until I talk to a manager that choose to respect the warrenty I see on the internet.

sblantipodiWhy the stepped up card should carry the same warrenty? I have paid 400 euros for the step up and I received new cards.

Ok, I am certainly confused.  Everything you have said has contradicted itself.  The dates, currency, conversations, ... everything keeps changing.

Good luck!  I have had enough fun here.  Maybe someone else will chat with you.

Like I said, you need to contact EVGA.  This is the wrong place to seek a discussion with a manager.

    Hi everyone,

Just to correct a misconception, step up products start with a new warranty based on the date we ship out the replacement card. From the Step-Up page FAQ:

    https://eu.evga.com/support/stepup/
"Step-Up products are considered a special new product, warranty will start from the shipping date of your new product from EVGA Step-Up."

sblantipodi, I'm sorry the tech who replied to you gave you incorrect information. I can confirm that your Step Ups were shipped to you on October 2nd, 2015, so you have roughly seven months of warranty left. While we cannot guarantee what product  you will get back as your replacement, we may possibly have 980Tis available. When you submit your RMA, please be sure to check the "This product is in SLI" option, this will ensure we do everything we can do to replace your card with an SLI-compatible model.

Sorry to see your card is not working as expected.

Using the EVGA Precision X OC to overclock your card is not an issue as the limits built into both the card and Precision prevents you from pushing it too far

However, cards do fail from time to time.

First of all thanks for joining in but you should teach "your tech" the "minimal requirements to do its job".
Not recognizing warrenty is not good, specially if most of your customers buys EVGA just because you have good warrenty. How much people this "tech" bounced saying people that their cards is out of warrenty?

Said that I would like to have the same identical card (06G-P4-4991-KR) otherwise I can't SLI it,
and I just have a working card. I don't need a second that can't SLI.

If you don't have the exact same card, I'm willing to pay the amount you decide to get two cards that can be equivalent or superior to my TIs.
It's not a problem of money, it's a problem of time. I use cards for gaming but mostly for 3d rendering so I need them.

Please tell me how much should I pay for newer cards and I will pay it but please solve my problem.
Really no problem, ask me the money you want for the change and I will pay.
