Well it has many complex topics and discussions, chief among which are: 1) Genocide 2) War Crimes 3) WMD 4) Mutually assured destruction 5) socio-economic inequality 6) Keynesian economics 7) inflation To name a few, it also mentions stories like Icarus and many other.

I'm way to afraid to peer into the subliminal messages in today's cartoons. I could see a parent not wanting to let their kid watch the history channel claiming it is too gruesome. "So we'll just pop in this MLP DVD."

That's actually not true. It's been established that Equestria uses physical currency as well as a competing barter system. Over the series we see that even high-society ponies must use bits to buy goods and services. In fact nowhere in the series do we see paper money being used to pay for things. Because the barter system is alive and well in Ponyville, it would be next to impossible to inflate away the value of money over time.

Pffft, I believe more in the basic teachings simple life lessons of the MLP episodes then I do about the existence of aliens. But hey, to each is own little world of happiness.
