I recently installed this video card (GTX 960 SuperSC ACX 2.0+ 2GB) and I love it.
 
When i play the Witcher 3, a game that requires great graphics and puts on weight on the video card, sometimes my PC automatically restarts, i check the temperatures of the components in my PC and turns out the video card is very hot.
 
So i did some experiments and found out that the fan does not spin unless i open EVGA PrecisonX 16. And in EVGA PrecisonX 16 i set the fan speed to auto, and enable automatically fan control.
 
I Google this problem and i read something like the fan won't spin until the temperature reaches 60C. I haven't actually tested this so i can't say for sure, but if so why does my video card still overheat then?
 
I have no problem turning on EVGA PrecisonX 16 everytime on start up. I just want to know if this is normal and if not how do i fix it.

I do not have a temperature monitoring software open when the PC shut down and restart, therefore i cannot tell you the exact temperature the card reached.
 
I got my conclusion by physically touching each components inside my PC immediately following the PC shut down. And the video card is very hot, definitely over 60C.
 
And how would i run the benchmark to test if the fans are spinning pass 60C?

OK i got gpi-z and i test it out. the fans do start running at 60C, however it's speed is much less than the default setting of EVGA PrecisonX 16. For instance, at 70C the fan is only at 25% speed. On EVGA PrecisonX 16, the aggressive setting has the fan at 90% speed at 70C.
 
So it is clear that the fans work, but just not fast enough, as the previous PC shut down suggests. Right now i am thinking manual start EVGA PrecisonX 16 everytime to solve this problem, any other ideas?

something wrong with bios? how do i fix that? my m/b is not made by EVGA.
