Hello forum members,
I need your help. I have a computer with those specifications:

power supply - FSP HEXA 500 watt
processor - I5 2400 3.10Ghz
motherboard - Asus p8h67
ram - 2 x 8 Gb ddr3 ram
system - Win 7 64 bit home premium
previous vga - radeon rx550 4gb
current - EVGA gtx 1060 6gb (temperature is around 40, sometimes 50 - which is still a green value, everything else is around 30 celsius)

My problem is even if i reinstalled the system and used older or the newest Nvidia driver, Win 7 sees only 2 giga as dedicated VRAM and every softver use only this amount only from the promissed 6 giga VRAM.  I don't know what causes this because i never had that issue before with my cards. Thank you for every help and time you can spend on me. I dont know what to do :/

Is it possible to use 6 giga vram on windows7? Or somehow ask for 4 giga instead 2 from my VGA? Thanks for the reply.

For what reason? Sitting on the desktop, you only use a couple of hundred MB of video memory. Of course there are applications and games that can use that much vram.  And,  no you cannot change the default way Windows reads your GPU memory. There's nothing wrong it's just a glitch.
