I'm running an issue and I'm trying to understand if this is a bandwidth issue, or an nVidia bug and was hoping I could get some advice. Currently I have 3 monitors connect in my setup, a super ultrawide Neo G9, a 28" G7 and an older LG 27" IPS panel that runs at 4K 60hz. The LG is usually the first to start up when I boot my machine and when it connects, all 3 monitors will display however the G9 will run start at 2560 x 1440 @ 60hz and the the only option for the G7 is 3840x2160 @ 120hz. When I try to raise the resolution to 5120 x 1440 @ 240 hz it reboots the machine with a bluescreen: 0x000000d1 If I disconnect the LG, I can raise the refresh rate of the G7 and G9 to their expected refresh rates without issue, once they're set if I try to go back and enable the LG,. windows just doesn't do it and there is a message below Display Orientation that says "The disp[lay settings could not be saved. Please try a different combination of display settings. All 3 are running display port cables to the card. No switches or anything in between. Distance is the standard 6 feet. Any ideas would be appreciated.

7680x4320 max resolution. You're pushing the card to hard perhaps. In cases, the resolution can be expanded, and people have success with multiple monitors, but it comes with limitations. GeForce RTX 3090 Graphics Card | NVIDIA

I'm still not understanding how this is not within spec. I have 2 4k displays which when added together is 7680x2160, and a 5120x1440 display. My setup would be pushing 23,961,600 total pixels, where 7680*4320 is 33177600. Almost 10 million more. I know of the hard cap on 4 displays, which I'm obviously not hitting. Just trying to make sense of this. Keep in mind I'm not gaming across all 3 monitors. I would only play games on the G9 if the game supports it, otherwise the G7.

I did read the notes and I'm still trying to make sense of it. I run 8-bit with HDR off on all 3 monitors. I don't know if that has much impact if any.

Don’t get me wrong. It may work. Just seems stacking all these different resolutions & Hz ratings might hit the thresholds. Just sharing to explain if somehow the conditions are met.
An ultra wide alone us almost 4K @ 240 Hz.

I think it is likely hitting the 7680 x 4320 max pixels that the 3090 can handle. It seems to be defaulting to what will not crash the system. It's not really about what the display port can do it's about the limitations of the chip inside the 3090 to run multiple monitors at 4K.

Changing the cable out didn't help. Setting all 3 monitors to 60hz didn't help either. My confusion is mostly around the supposed support for 3 x 4k Monitors with Nvidia surround, since I technically have 2 4k monitors and 1 less than 4k monitor (the super ultrawide is less demanding pixel wise than a 4k monitor) I'm struggling to understand why this wouldn't work.

Try to have all the monitors powered on before you turn the pc on and see what happens.

If you combine the Horizontal and Vertical resolution of the three monitors what are the numbers, any of them exceeded H 7680 or V 4320? If so, might consider install another lower end card to support one of the low demand monitor if possible.

Last night I tried my new Samsung Neo G9 (5120×1440) along with the old Alienware 34" 21x9 screen.. can't remember the res off the top of my head.. 3xxx x 1440.
Anyways I only had the option for hdmi on the old screen atm. Limited to just 60hz.. though had 240hz active on the other.
Windows 11. I could not get safe boot to work on display mode. Had to use a monitor with hdmi. Haha. Crazy.
Desk has the room for the to ultra wides so I'll try to get a displayport on the 2nd later tonight. It's a 120hz so hopefully I can.
Don't know if I can fit the old 43" 4k screen on the desk as well but I'll also give that a try.

My total combined resolution is less than 8K. In order to achieve 8K resolution with 4K monitors you would need 2 X 2 4K monitors. That's 4 in total, where my setup has 2x4K monitors on the bottom, so 7680x2160, and the super ultrawide above which is 5120x1440. The G9 is less than 2 4K monitors as far as resolution goes so this falls within both the resolution and plugged in monitors spec'd by nvidia. I've manually set the monitors refresh rates to 60, since the spec is 8K @ 60hz. The more and more I think about this, the more I think it's a bug and not 'by design'.

Like I said.. my system acted very strange last night if I didn't have the monitor on before I booted the system.
Windows/nvidia did not like it ans did not display the screen correct (resolution) on the screen.. even rebooting windows did not fix it on the next boot. I had to turn the system off and re power up eith the monitor on before it behaved.
So try it eith all the monitors turned on and then power up the pc.

So I finally got to the bottom of this I think. There seems to be an issue when I change monitor resolutions that keeps toggling Adaptive Sync on, on one of my Samsung monitors. If I changed the resolution on the G9 lower, it was toggling adaptive sync on on my G7, and vice versa. So I can get all 3 to work, with adaptive off and all 3 monitors forced to 60hz, I can get them all to work together. If I want to use adaptive sync with any of my monitors, it disables one. Not the most ideal but at least it works. Thanks for everyone's input.
