That to me is why no company should have or allowed Pre-Orders.

I would cancel just for the fact of the voltage limit Nvidia is putting on these cards vs what EVGA is putting on the cards. Not like I would run those voltages 24/7, but if I was bench marking I would want the extra voltage.

Yeah it's a real bummer and I'm really not sure what I will do yet. I mean, my card hasn't been charged as of today and probably will not until the first week or so of October when they may be shipped. Can you all tell what's missing from the photo? It's PAINFUL ;)

Well, preordered the day that the blocks went live on EK website then had them shipped UPS (not much extra really). They shipped on the 21st and got here today! I bet I won't get my cards until Oct 10th or so....not much I can do.

If the delay is longer I really wonder how many pre orders will be cancelled. It's one thing to just tell people at the start that orders will be filled within the next two to three weeks or a month. I think if that was the story from the start people would be ok but people don't like to feel like they are jerked around.

I was perusing the Nvidia forums today and I found a post that indicated (taken with grain of salt) that the delays were due to a problem with yield/waste of the GDDR6 memory. I found a link to the article in French here: https://vonguru.fr/2018/09/17/cpu-gpu-la-menace-dune-penurie-serieuse/ "With the launch of the new cards, the volumes produced by manufacturers have been revised downwards significantly. The immediate effect is a significant reduction in deliveries to distributors in the coming weeks. The problem would not come Nvidia chips but the process of making cards, a priori memory, because all manufacturers seem affected. A rate of 50% of waste is even announced off by some market players on some references.Still, this problem , if it thwarts the launch of RTX, is probably purely temporary." I don't understand however, how this would affect ONLY the Ti's and how would this yield process not have been figured out earlier? It just doesn't make sense.

Could you imagine selling a product and not have enough of the product to meet the demand? It's crazy, wish I was smart enough to come up with a product people were waiting in line to purchase, even at $1,200 price tag.

This entire launch has been a trainwreck...and that's being generous.

Sweet, did you get the 2.75 slot cards or did you just go with the 2 slot cards since you're putting a water block on them?

It's effected non-Ti's. Most people who pre-ordered are still waiting on a delivery date, from all from all manufacturers at every retailer. Me any plenty other are waiting on dates for their 2080 XC Ultras from Amazon, Best Buy, and Newegg, etc. And Nvidia claimed only the Ti was effected, but they were wrong.

Here's what happened this morning: I checked on Microcenter's website around 7:30am. They had 5 Zotac AMP! 2080Ti's available for reservation for pickup at 10am with limit one per household. I reserved one. Then a few minutes later, they had 5 EVGA XC Ultra Ti up for reservation with limit one per household. I reserved one as well. I got to the store around 9:50am and a few people were standing outside. We were all escorted in and asked if we had reserved or not and then we checked out from there. I released the Zotac card and will wait on another XC Ultra to come up since I don't want two different cards and would much prefer the EVGA item. A salesperson there told me they were expecting another shipment quite soon. Edit: By the time I left, all cards were spoken for/purchased.

Yes, it does feel good to at least get one here. I'm really not sure what I want to do yet. I have an x58 970 system here with an original Titan in it as a test system and although it may be fun to plop the air cooled Ti in there, I REALLY want to get the block on it and put it into my game system. However, that would require me to drain this loop again and refit once the second card arrives.
