I really don't see the end of the Surface being anytime soon but I could see it changing over time. I really see it as the answer Microsoft needs for Apple devices. Apple has the iPad and Microsoft has a full Windows 10 Surface. Apple has the MacBook Air and Microsoft has Surface Laptop. It's simply an answer that is needed to the competition. The only way I could see it go away is if they partnered with another company like they are doing to bring Cortana to Amazon Echo.

Does anyone actually USE a surface? I'd forgotten they EXISTED. And gods forbid, why would Amazon want to inflict that horrible "Cortana" trash on their Echo? Just sounds like ANOTHER reason to ignore that line of stuff to me.
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Well if they did it would fall in line to all of their other hardware ventures they've done. It's why I don't even bother with Microsoft hardware any longer.

The hardware normally works well I just wish that they still made stuff for gamers. The Sidewinder brand wasn't that bad really.

The Surface is a really nice product. Maybe with cheaper products like the Lenovo Yoga its not selling well. I know I would love a Surface but its just too much money, its in that workstation zone for 2,000+ bucks. However the pro3 and 4 are priced well. Rather spend 500ish on a surface than a iPad.

No reason to buy a Surface when you can get a Chinese knockoff that uses the ipad screen part and the same Intel Atom or whatever CPU for half to a third the cost of a Surface by manufacturers like Teclast, Onda, Pipo, Cube or Chuwi. There is no money in it for Microsoft.

I work for a MSP and quite a few businesses actually use the surface. We find the durability isn't that great and serviceability is horrible. That said I think the Yoga is a better product but they complain it's too thick / heavy.

The surface is great b/c its a full blown laptop, a i7, DDR# memory and SSD. The USB port, display out, and card reader makes it a awesome option for the IT guy on the go.
