Max safe temperature for "24/7" use for 2080 Ti?

By 24/7, I mean just normal every day gaming and not pushing extremes for benchmarks.  I saw that the max temperature for the 2080 Ti is 85 degrees Celsius, which is lower then the 1080 Ti at 95 degrees Celsius. 
 
I ended up buying the 2080 Ti Black Edition (non-a chip) and it gets up to 80 degrees when playing graphic intensive games like Metro Exodus or Anthem (Free game bundle was great btw!). Staying around 5 degrees from max temperature makes me feel uncomfortable. I can change the fan curve but is it okay to run it like this stock?
 
Playing less graphic intensive games like Apex Legends, Rocket League or DOTA2 makes it run closer to 70 degrees Celsius.

    Running 24 Hours a Day @ 85°C I would say No
    75°C -80°C over this it is time for a Hybrid Kit or Hydro Copper Water Block and a custom water loop.
    I like to keep mine at least below 60°C.
    "(non-a chip)" has nothing to with anything as far as how hot your card runs.

    89c is the max. Anyhting at/below that is fine, but of course lower temps are always better.

    I would recommend water cooling that card or any other RTX, cuz they do put out some serious heat, if my 2070 heats my bedroom like a dang space heater, then I know the 2080 ti will be worse, TT core p90 open frame  helped so much on keeping things fresh air cooled, best case ive ever owned.

    Keep in mind that you will want to keep the card clean if it's running at 85C. As Sajin said you want to keep it under 89C which it is now but if dust builds up it could easily go above. It's best to spend a bit if time every couple months dusting the inside of the computer out.

    85C? I'd be freaking out if it was me. Max out the fans while gsming.. set up the fan profile in px1 to 100% the fans after 50c and see what happens.

    Turn up your Case Fans - Get the heat out of your case --> before that Card recycles it
     
    NVIDIA's Boost 4.0 will override everything to protect GPU temps ....
     
    Its pushing the Voltage to Max 24/7 that has been reported to possible cause issues

    Your case air flow setup is questionable or your TIM is bad.  And/or you're not using some sort of vsync / frame rate limiter.
