Hey there RJ.. Sorry long reply back plus had problems with posting pictures directly so tried a different cloud service.. I can only link the URL that will take you to the site to look at.. https://www.flickr.com/photos/152120878@N06/albums/72157694500042125  Until I figure this out where I can actually post pictures here.. I'll do so.

Thanks Vlada11...

I also finally got the 8700K CPU 6cores.. :) whoot! Now just got few items left to check off.. RGB 120MM Fans, Water cooler AIO close loop and 2 more Micron SSD which I'll take all 6 of them together and have the metal cover painted Copper based color and perhaps Black stripes on it.. (Not sure yet)... Then last is Cable Mods color coordinated copper/black... Then I should be ready to have it built.. :) One last thing when I get enough money and price drops is throw in another K|NGP|N GTX 1080 TI card running SLI..

it's coming together slowly but for real..:)

i7-8700K is great processors.
Someone to ask me to build him high end gaming RIG I would use i7-8700K and GTX1080 Founders and put them under water on
280/360mm radiator and some Transparent on Black CPU block as Supremacy EVO.
I mean they could work on 600W PSU with 100W space.

I don't know why you would call a processor with only 16 PCI-E lanes a great processor.

But that's gaming CPU.
16 for GPU and PCH lanes could be used for M.2.
Why not?

Anyway I look him as processor for Mini RIGs.
He work on 1000MHz higher frequency than Ryzen 7 per core.
AMD really suffer because low frequency. Need just little more for balance between number of cores and core frequency, arround 4.3-4.5GHz is enough for 8-10-12 cores.
But Ryzen 2 still can't... If I saw good I was interest for 4.3GHz... but first results show that reach that spot on 1.45V. Normal customers will not be able to repeat that for every sample and that's too much voltage for every day. That's 0.300mV. Intel OC with 0.050mV 200-300MHz.
I look on that like Intel decide to launch successor of i7-8700K with 5.0GHz Turbo and leave people space 100MHz if they have luck.
AMD is good product compare what they had, but still they need to work. Ryzen 2 could be beat with Intel chipset from 2014.
X99+ i7-6950X OC for 1000MHz and Ryzen 2 no way to come close. 10 cores x 1000MHz OC.

That's great when chipset have budget variant with lower cost capable to give you opportunity to build platform immediately and later some 10-12 cores to extend life time.
Same as X299. You could build with i7-7820X and later to use 14-16-18 cores when price drop. No reason to change CPU every 2-3 years.
On beginning I always used platform as much I can improve. I add memory and CPU later.
But now it's far better because you can easier change timmings and frequency of memory.
No reason to change so often because manufacturers extend generation on 2-3 instead to immediately switch on better, different RAM, etc.
On that way they profite, 2-3 times more than normal but people no reason to follow that strictly.
Z170/Z270/Z370 is one generation no matter what Intel say. That's 3 version of one socket. Ryzen 1 and 2 as well.

I still believe CPU manufacturers should give users more PCI-E lanes

Re: MY LAST HURRAH BUILD! 2018/04/14 08:08:48 (permalink)
Off course 16 is to low.
People should be able to connect at least SLI and CF to work on full speed.
That's madness because on 350$ CPU high end overclocking model from mainstream class they can't.
They can't even with Ryzen 2. Below 40 PCI-E lanes from CPU system is not same.
32 for GPU and few extra is NECESSARY.
Below 35-40 PCI-E lanes it's almost same is it 16 or 24.
We don't deserve excuses and explanations that difference is not visible and advertising new chipset and new generations with same not visible improvements.
Even i7-7820X is to low. What we can do. I can't connect two GPU on 28 PCI-E lanes, I could use rest PCI-E lanes for M.2 NVMe RAID 0 if people success to modified on X79 and X99 to work. For me that's maybe more important than option for SLI. Than naturaly work only on Skylake and later, but in theory should work with x16 PCI-E adapter where I again need 40 PCI lanes or GPU speed go down to x8.
I think for RAID 0 M.2 need at least 8-16 PCI-E lanes.

I give idea to EVGA to launch dual M.2 NVMe Adapter card x16 with nice shroud with thermal pads and little silent fan.
But they missed and MSI made some huge like graphic card. ASUS later made single slot, nice for x4 M.2 and silver shroud.
EVGA could done that and they would design that very nice.
Owners of Threadripper, Ryzen, Skylake-X and later generation would be interest.
Maybe K|NGP|N should design M.2 NVMe Classified adapter for x4 M.2.

Re: MY LAST HURRAH BUILD! 2018/05/15 19:33:36 (permalink)
UPDATE:: I finally decided to go with Kraken X52 Water Cooling AIO..  Now here's my next questions.. I am wondering or trying to decide which HUB should I go with? Corsair Commander PRO HUB using corsair link software? Or should I go with NZXT HUB using CAM software?

Also for the RGB fans.. does one have to get specific brands or can we get generic type of RGB fans to plug into either Corsair Commander or NZXT Hub?  I figured that RGB would not matter cuz it's not Patent to one specific brand except the software itself...

All the stuffs I have been getting is all coming together slowly.. The only thing left would be ordering RGB Fans, MNPC GPU holder, Cable MODS color coordinated. Now I just gotta put it together to measure the length of each cables so it's clean and not bulky looking..

Finally I was able to upload the photos. My apologies for being slow to getting this to work. For some reasons the "X" error kept popping up when I included the URL.. oh well..

Hello Everyone...

Here's an update- AS of now I have ordered special or custom branding for my Rig. I have designed a style for JMMODS to do the engraving or cutting of acrylic. So far it's looking good. Once they arrived then I will mount them on the case. I will also order 120MM fans plus custom color wirings to replace long wires that Power supply came with. I will order the wiring from CableMOD

Have fun Gaming yall...

Thanks..  The only thing I have problems with it is the Killer Network driver.. I finally took off the suite.. and updated with just the driver itself.. See if that will do the trick..  Also I ordered a new router ASUS with 8 ports.. Anyways will do that and see if that will def help my gaming experience and other streaming things..

Anyhow.. I'm now onto building a Home Cloud Media server.. :) all from scratch ( the case that is). It'll be running 8 HDD.. off itx mobo.. Already have the rig just need to build me a tall standing case that can hold 8 HDD. It'll be from Plexi type of case. It'll also be hooked to 42" for family type of gaming.. :)

Till then folks..

Question though will TIMETEC 16G DDR4 2133 CL15 1.2V 64GB work with EVGA x299 micro board?

I’m thinking of customizing the rams with RGB heat spreader kit.

Of course I will post pictures of my confessing rig!

We knew you'd be back ;)
2133?? I'd go for 3200 at least....

(but no idea if that RAM will work with that board, if it's not on the QVL ...I'd be wary...)

Had a feeling you couldn't stay away. I don't know if that ram will work on that motherboard or not.

DO TELL DUDE!!

I'll stick with 3200MHZ then..  Will stay with the compatibility List with the Mobo.. Just trying to find myself Corsair Dominators or Vengeance in WHITE color. Then I'll be ready to start building Another Rig again..

QUESTION Y'ALL... I have looked at the EVGA X299 Micro Memory Compatible check list.. I don't see anywhere that says 64GB Rams is compatible with Corsair.. My mobo will support up to  64Gigs of rams.. I want to stick or stay with Corsair Branded (Can be Vengance or Dominators).. I preferable Dominators.. (White too!).

So any of you running X299 Micro with Corsair Dominators 64Gigs of Rams? If so LMK which...

That's the only thing left I need to order before I start the transition of my old set up to my daughter while I build up the new RIG.

Thanks...

Re: MY LAST HURRAH BUILD! 2021/04/16 20:47:17 (permalink)
Hello everyone- I have a bugging question! I have bought VETROO LED Lights Fans to hook up to EVGA Z370 that I have given to my daughter. It's running through RGB converter from Gamerstorm. Since it's running 5V to 12V converter.. I have plugged into RGB 1 Headers on the motherboard.. When it reboots or when I click on power switch to reboot for updating.. It'll light up but stays off..

HOw in the world do I get the RGB to start working? Is there any software besides PRECISION X1... (That's mainly for GPU).. I want Light effects so my daughter can enjoy her nice gaming rig..

Any pointers out there that can help direct me to right place to get it up and running..

Thanks..
