Okay, so a few days ago I was playing CSGO fine at around 400-800 FPS with my 1080. Since then I've seemed to have dropped to 150 at some points but with an average of 250-300. The only thing i've done to my PC since then is install an SSD, I figured that might be the issue, I reinstalled CSGO on my HDD but I'm still having the same issue. It's not only CSGO that I'm noticing it in, when I'm watching footage on YouTube with people who have simular/same specs as me their FPS seems a lot higher than mine. When running a benchmark this was my score:
I managed to find someone with identical specs to mine and their score was pretty much the same as mine, but the issues with FPS are what's bothering me. Any help will be appreciated. The specs I'm currently running are as follows-
☆Six Core i7 5820k @3.3Ghz
☆EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 SC
☆16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX Ram
☆MSI X99A SLI PLUS Motherboard
☆1TB Seagate HD
☆Samsung 850 Evo SSD 250GB
☆Corsair 750watt PSU
☆Corsair Hydro Series H100i V2, CPU cooler

Thanks for reading, Tom.

    Welcome to the Forums Lyc0z

    What OS ? details

Did the OS update ?  Win 10 auto updates

    Did you change Nvidia drivers?

Temps?  10 series like to stay cold < 50 C for best performance, mine start to slow at 50 C

    Control panel show any conflicts?

    SSD set to ACHI ?

Anything get "bumped" while installing SSD ?

Sound and chipset drivers up to date ?

Did Win 10 update to 1607 aka "Anniversary Update" on your Windows 10 machine ?
This wonderful update reinstalls the xbox app apparently, so you have to disable GameDVR again if you want good FPS.

The only thing I can think of is when I right clicked on my desktop and opened nvidia control panel a few days ago. There wasn't any menu's ect on the side so i reinstalled the graphics driver. It looked like this
(taken from another forum. but the same thing.)

That issue is fixed now but I'm wondering if it could have caused another issue.

Sorry for double posting, when I looked through device manager I noticed that my CPU is displaying some kind of error; could this be the source of the issue?

The error code is 32 - A driver (service) for this device has been disabled.  An alternate driver may be providing this functionality. (Code 32)

That definitely isn't right. Uninstall each one till they are all gone, then at the top under the action menu select scan for hardware changes. See if that clears the errors.

I've since reinstalled windows, all the errors are gone but unfortunately the original issue still stands. I'm struggling to figure out whether this is a GPU or CPU problem or neither. Do you have any advice on methods I could try to test this out?

Best thing to do would be to check and see if your cpu & gpu are running at advertised speeds while you're playing.

Csgo is mostly using cpu, you can test this by setting max_fps 120 and switching it to 9999 after you've seen gpu usage and compare them.
Are you sure you installed the right drivers?

Sorry for the dumb question, I only really know the basics of PC components ect... Are there updateable drivers for the CPU?

Sorry again for another question but I've looked around and I couldn't see anything that can tell me the realtime speed of my graphics card and CPU. Do you have any recommendations?
