EVGA 600 BRONZE 600W Power Supply:

I noticed that the power supply cord is very loose when plugged in as firmly as I can into the power jack of the power supply.  I can wiggle it in all the directions which I don't think is supposed to happen.  Evidently, it is very difficult to keep my computer on as any little bump on the computer case, the cord, the desk, or anything that comes in contact with the cord would turn off the computer.  I temporarily taped the cord to my desk to maintain the angle of insertion.  Some days I can't even turn it on as the tape wears out quickly.  Otherwise, the power supply works great when it does have power!

Anyways, has anyone had problems like this?  I tried plugging in spare power cord from different devices since the AC power cord is universal, but fit even looser than the provided cord from the power supply.  Even I am reluctant to turn on the power supply with a different power cord as the rating of the EVGA power cord is 10A / 250W and the spare ones are 10A / 125W and I'm not sure that it would be a great idea to use anything other than manufacturer specifications, especially on power supplies.

It definitely shouldn't wiggle that much at all. It may be a little bit loose, but enough to shut off the pc isn't good.

It may be a defect, and should be taken back to the store, or RMA'd to Evga. Moving your thread to the Warranty section for further help from the Evga Techs.

Scarlet-Tech is absolutely right, your AC cable should fit snugly into the socket. Definitely check to see if any of the 3 pins are bent or loose, as this should not be the case, and make sure that the socket is securely attached to the chassis of the PSU.

If you do see any issues, please register your PSU (if you haven't done so already) and contact us directly at support@EVGA.com or by submitting a ticket on Support > Support Ticket and we can assist you further to get this sorted out.

Has this issue been resolved? I'm having a similar problem and can't find a solution to it.
