Posted picture promise something special.
I remember period when I proudly unbox and used my K|NGP|N, NVIDIA is culprit because I can't repeat that feeling.
And when you have K|NBP|N GPU in signature. That's official sign that you are part of elite among hardware enthusiasts.

I would like to see him visible from every side in my Lian Li.
I need exactly 100-150 euro more to finish my build, second radiator and 3 fans NF-A12x25 PWM (total 6) will costed me 210 euro.
In some moment I'm close to build only with single radiator, but I afraid temperatures. It's not only CPU and GPU, it's VRM, SB because Monoblock.

Two GTS 360 Black Ice Nemesis, thin with 6X Noctua NF-A12x25.

I’m sure there will be more to come. This is the first big teaser.

Not what this is showing.

Meh, I wouldn’t follow an outdated chart from over a month ago. Not sure if the block will come installed, or if it will just be an accessory, but hydrocopper is happening:

P.S. I had no idea what you were referring to with your link at first. Mobile web browser doesn’t show the linked post, so it took me a while to figure out what you meant.

I was waiting for this but without a release date i grew impatient. I went and bought 2x ftw3 hydrocopper

I would like for them to make a water block for this is as I'm uninterested in hybrid cooling. If the numbers are good enough i was sell my cards and grab 2 of them

What kind of power supply are we looking at for this thing?
I know the ftw3 pulls 373watts.

Would 1200 platinum be good for sli? matched with a 9900k

Thats disappointing. I JUST purchased a EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P2. With that said, assuming max draw with Heavy OC is something like 425-450 watts.  Thats 850-900 watts. A platinum 1200 psu should be fine. 1.425 volts gamersnexus 9900k 5.3 ghz oc live on asus maximus was pulling about 270+ watts
Hmm, it will be tight

Been waiting since 6AM for this not less than 20 Feet from my Front Door.
Let's hope this is not the case tomorrow.

Did i hear correctly; 520 max tdp? Mostly everyone will need a new psu !
That will pretty much exclude me from this as i have a 1200 watt evga platinum and i would need to downgrade from 2 cards to 1. yes i could always buy the 1600 but its annoying

If people are willing to pay for this card, they won’t/shouldn’t complain about buying a bigger PSU. This isn’t intended or aimed at daily users, even though they will buy them. Vince runs one of these on a 1600w PSU, to provide the best and cleanest power possible, and his 1080ti could pull nearly 1000w during extreme benchmarking.

Same number of VRMs/power phases as the FTW3 but I can't seem to find a amperage number for the FTW3.
Is it just bios and some digital voltage controllers separating the kingpin from the ftw3 or are the power phases higher amperage?

The kingpin is a different animal. The whole pcb will be different than the ftw3, so yes they will most likely be higher. The vbios that ships with the card will have the card locked down just like any other gpu. The gpu will only open up after you flash a special vbios to the card. You'll have to contact Vince aka Kingpin to get it. =)

Ah I see! While I'll be sticking with my ftw3 I can't wait to see what numbers people pull on that thing. A 2.3+ghz 2080ti would be ridiculous, and with that much extra power I don't think that's out of the realm of possibility

Isn't the lightning more is a match for the ftw3 then a card like the KP?

Edit: just watched GNs video on it, 500+ watt vbios
I'd love to see something like that added to the ftw3 because heat was certainly not my limiting factor on OC

Yea I realized that watching the video lol.
Still would love a higher power vbios for the ftws. And if the lightning is competitively priced I'll be slightly salty lol

Yeesh been seen at up to 2475 on the lightning.
C'mon evga lemme feed my ftw3 500 watts lol

If they made the 1080 version, then they should make the 2080 version too. Darn it.

Re: Kingpin 2080ti 2019/01/09 11:02:19 (permalink)
dont expect too much extra out of this. I was watching a Der8auer video where he did some testing and despite popular belief it doesn't scale well at all with voltage. It responds better with temperature. I confirmed this with my old 2080ti ultra. I stuck it outside (35 F) and it spiked to 2160-2175 MHz under same settings.
If this kingpin card reaches 2300 (under normal cooling) i will be impressed and that will be requiring a very substantial power power draw for an extra 100 over the ftw3.

Jays2cents was reporting temperatures of this card running at stock settings and normal voltage (baby bios) well into the upper 50s on an open test bed. Which means 60s in a closed case and much higher when actually OC'd. The 120mm rad is disappointing and seems deficient. The rationale was to be more easily compatible for the masses and that a larger rad wasnt practical for most.
I think asus will steal everyones thunder in this regard.

Dont get me wrong im still looking for this card but someone needs to speak the truth here

Usually the K|ngp|n and other cards reach the same range, +25-50mhz compared to standard pcb cards. I would be surprised if this pushes 2150 with hybrid. I would bet a guarantee of 2025-2050mhz just like last gen cards with no further guarantee.

Most people hoped the 1080ti would hit 2200 before it came out, and very few could even get near that under water. I wouldn’t look for this one to go further since the Pascal and Turing cards are so close when it comes to frequency

I just hope they sell the waterblock separately again to be flexible and with higher volume. So one has actually a chance to get one.

Btw hi guys :D been absent from the forums since 1080Ti Kingpin days.

And yes 2200Mhz ob 1080Ti was extremely rare. I was fortunate enough to find a chip (one out of eight) that did that. It would run 2156Mhz on 1.012v in 3Dmark and 2224MHz on 1.093v in 3Dmark. With temps below 20C under load and only benchmark stable... so not rly practical. Managed 2300Mhz in Firestrike once with 1.2v that’s it. That’s water cooling chilled though.

SNIPES7!!! Welcome back! *waves!*
