Yeah, vRel/vOP with both the KP and FTW3 Ultra. Not seeing any benefit to the KP over the FTW3 Ultra thus far for all the extra cooling they added.

It is sad that no one knows before hand the actual ASIC Bin # of the new 3090 Kingpins before they buy them.  Anybody remember when the EVGA GTX 980 Kingpins came out that you could buy them depending on how high an ASIC Bin you wanted?

As is going to be the case with any earlier adopter. EVGA has a good support history and I'm sure will release bios/firmware/drivers or RMA cards, but I think the general rule of thumb for most people is to keep their old cards or have a backup option if they have issues with their cards for the first couple weeks.

Highest i was able to get on my KP on PR is 14,850 with the LN2 bios. My 3090 ftw3 ultra gets 14,600 on PR. That's a 1.7% difference in performance. 1.7% is a low enough number that I can say that it is likely due to chance or silicon lottery and not engineering differences.
I experienced this with last gen's Kingpin too, but mine was actually worse... my KP couldn't hit 2145 stable even with classified tool. My 2080 Ti XC Ultra (reference board) is able to hit 2160 with a power limited bios of 338w...And no I did not do LN2. Ended up returning it and eating a $300 restocking fee. I'm sure these are binned chips, but with how scarce the 3090 silicon is, the binning margin is probably top 50% of clockers rather than top 20%. Your story makes me really nervous to throw down 2k on another

That’s what I’m reading with you and Queue, but unfortunately since I let my 3090 FTW3 Hybrid purchase email expire yesterday, I’m fully committed to buying the KP when my email shows up hopefully next week. I’ve been without a card since 11/11 when my 3090 FTW3 Ultra died and I wasn’t about to try another one given all the problems others have been having with that card and the Red Light of Death. So, even if the KP is not that much faster or at all than the FTW3, at least hopefully it won’t die after two days. I’m willing to pay extra for that peace of mind! Hope they release something soon to fix the issues you guys are having.

Kingpins are not only binned for clock speed. They are binned for performance. For example, my 2080ti KPE runs at 2115/2130/2145 summer/fall/winter. Yet it consistently benches 10500 in PR on the stock bios and voltage. It scales like crazy with ice water. It also runs below 300w. Look at the overall performance and cold scaling, not just the core speed.

Isn't vrel/vop voltage limit, not power? Hitting the max 1088mV or so that JC was hitting with just the software slider? Have you used the voltage dip switches yet? I would think JC used the dip switches to get his card up to ~2200MHz, which is what Jay and Vince were getting on the KP stream on stock cooler. Still, thats only ~50MHz or so more than what some air cooled 3090 owners are getting (~2145MHz I've seen a few times).
