Where is creekthagray at? He got his BIOS issue sorted but has gone dark since. Feed me data.

For reals. He’s probably off somewhere playing COD at 400 FPS and is no longer interested in us Kingpin-less peasants any longer. Luckyyy.

He's took one picture and is probably over it now.

That’s what I was thinking, too! Got the first shipment tweet in and dropped the mic. Forever.

maybe it's not binned any differently than a FTW3 Ultra :0 It's only $200 more...

That's exactly what I want to know! How better it is than ftw3/strix. I had 2080ti KingPin and ftw3 and the KPE was definitely better binned

+1

I’m surprised there hasn’t been a normal review of this card yet for what most normal humans will be doing with the card on the stock cooler. Just the LN2 marathon deathmatch stream. I still can’t get a straight answer from anyone on what the power limit is for the OC BIOS. I’ve heard 450W for Normal and 520W for LN2. I assume it’s just a more aggressive fan curve but would be nice to confirm.

On 2080ti KPE all bioses had same power limits. Also I am really hope they write up a technical guide
for 3090 KPE like they did for 2080 ti: https://xdevs.com/guide/2080ti_kpe/

I asked Jacob on Twitter if there's a plan to write such article but he didn't answer

I asked Jacob about the power limits but similarly received no response. I guess he’s inundated with people incessantly asking about where their auto notify emails are, and then when they finally get them, they’re panicking because they completely missed their purchase windows. But I digress.

I’ve also studied that article in an attempt to glean anything about what the technical specifications of the 3090 KPE might be and found it extremely useful as a template. Let’s hope something similar is published this time around.

Steve said on the stream the bios they were using was 1000watts. So if you're worried about power limit you shouldn't be -- you can just use that 1000watt XOC bios. I'm guessing the "stock" bios' will probably be around 500watts give or take.

Lol I’m not worried. I would just like to know, that’s all. Doesn’t seem like a heavy ask and others are asking on Twitter, as well. That 1000W BIOS probably removes all temperature protections and I’d rather not fry my card.

I don't think it will remove the temp protection. I think that may be in the classified tool. I don't think they would let users fry cards by flipping a switch and moving some sliders.

I hope you’re right, but I recall Jay saying exactly that very thing on the stream, that if you switch to LN2 and you start moving sliders around and don’t know what you’re doing, you can definitely kill this card. Those might have been his exact words if I remember correctly.

So I can see that happening with the classified tool for sure. I think their are temp protections that can only be turned off from within that program.

For the 2080ti Kingpin, overcurrent protection is toggled off using the Classified tool, not temperature protection. Temperature protection is off on the LN2 bios and XOC bios.

TiN did that write up on the 2080ti and unless we all pitch in a send him a 3090 there is not going to be one written up on Xdevs. From what he explained to me was that he is no longer involved in pc equipment and is working with electronic testing equipment now. I think our best chance for guide into the 3090kp will most likely come from Vince. I remember he mentioned that he is starting a YT channel, so that would be a possible resource.

I don’t know about the classified tool having the option to remove temp protection. But if you look at Table 6 here:

https://xdevs.com/guide/2080ti_kpe/#biost

It shows that the LN2 switch on the 2080ti KPE removed temperature protection just by flipping the switch, so I really do think it might just be that easy to do so on the 3090 KPE, as well.

Unless you are also using the classified tool to increase voltages, simply removing temp protections won't fry your card.

So any news on when the next batch of purchase emails will go out? Is it just sometime between now and Dec.15th?

Ok I know some have asked for info on the 3090, I have been working through the card and testing and have released a small video going over my first results using just the PX1 software only and a general overview of the card.

Let me know what you think. More to come soon as I finish testing other cooling setups.

Nice video, just sub'd to your channel. Just to be clear, you were on the LN2 bios on your bench testing?

Thanks for sharing! But the PR scores are too low for a beast with 500w power and you you added a fan to blow through the card. My 3090 FE can do 14k PR when OC-ed so this is disappointing from KPE

Also wondering and assuming there's currently no way to auto-notify. I just registered my 1080 Ti / 2080 Ti hybrids to be eligible for the K|NGP|N, but I don't have an auto-notify option on any hybrid 3090. It's only an option for other cards.

Is refreshing for the auto-notify button something that I have make a day job, or will it be like something that's made available again after Dec 15th? I've mainly been checking on occasion when I get frustrated from running out of VRAM, and I still haven't ever seen the option for auto-notify on the hybrid cards. Sure would be nice to just wait patiently until my number's called.

Thanks for the info, and clarifying. It seemed odd to me that auto-notify would come and go for different products. I'll check it out.

The first tranche of the auto-notify happened just over a week ago.  Many of those who were able to secure a position in the auto-notify queue before the button disappeared have reported to this thread with their time stamp.  A spreadsheet list is available in my signature block (below).  Given the limit supply to Kingpin cards, it looks like EVGA is turning the auto-notify button on and off as they determine the size of each tranche of inventory.  I hope that helps.
