A source that said that's a direct quote from Vince on how they're selected, so I'm fairly certain it's accurate.
 
Basically it means they're not straight up "binned", but they are a "select" group.

Without any inside information, Devine or otherwise, and only going with hope, there will be a relatively large drop this week.  Either Tuesday or Wednesday.  That and $4 will get you a good coffee at Starbucks.

Any one got Top and side picture of a KPE and say reference board? I can't find any good picture to see what is so different and water block from one of the other ones can't be customized to work?

If you check out this post https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-GeForce-RTX-3090-KNGPN-Coming-soon-m3133983-p69.aspx#3213607  I have been in contact with EK, and it's sounding pretty unlikely they are going to commit to making one, unless I guess there is unprecedented demand, and also -more importantly - they find the time to finish up on a number of other projects they have in the pipeline, from what they mentioned in their video, because the overall market for these is admittedly relatively small, maybe in the 100's? I guess I'd think if it was even close to being easy, just making a couple minor changes, they would probably have it on the list of things to produce, but obviously it looks to be a bit more involved than that. Hopefully EVGA will come thru and make enough water blocks for these cards to satisfy the demand, unlike what happened to the 1080Ti KP's a few years back.

How many kingpins will they do for the run ? 200 500 ?

In aggregate, we have tracked 255 3090 KPEs to Tranche #1 and Tranche #2 so far.  I think that means that EVGA gas distributed north of 450 KPEs already.  I am betting it ends up around 1000 or so for the Hybrid (it would be just my luck if they cancelled the HC version).  Remember that EU has yet to receive any and, at least for the moment, they are still limited to "Elite" members.

Well enewt, it would 100% be just MY luck if they came out and said no more Kingpins in general! When I'm next in the queue! Can't count how many times where situations like that has happened to me.

I am quite confident that there will be more KPE.  Hopefully soon!

I bet for the earlier runs they held them until they had amassed a tranche of at least 100 units.  Going forward, I bet they reduce that tranche minimum to 50 units.  It just seems unnecessary to keep the next 50 consumers waiting until they can also send 51+ out.  Total speculation on my part....

I would imagine that they are waiting on enough cards to justify an air freight to the US.  Though it is possible these are shipped via a container ship with other FTW3 3070's etc.  Just with the dollar amount and what is likely a much lower profit % (because the price increase over the FTW3 Ultra, hand selecting GPUs, custom PCB produced in low volume etc) they keep these under tighter control and ship via air.  

Of course this is all speculation and in you're opinion, but then that's alot of what goes on here at the forum.
