Whatever you do, replace the stock ones... I mean seriously, look at this hot garbage: It's basically the same fan, those are from the 2080 Ti Kingpin - there's gigantic gaps between the fan blades which means there will be really bad static pressure loss for a radiator with this thick of fin density... then they only spin up to like 2200-2400RPM & they're loud as hell while still not moving that much air. The fans on the FTW3 Hybrid are better than these things: They're not a ton better, but at least they have more blades and they go up to 3400RPM or somethin' crazy like that... and RGB lul Then you have actually good radiator fans like these thicc-bladed beasts: Anyway, I highly recommend planning ahead to immediately replace the radiator fans if you're buying a Kingpin.

Indeed, the FTW3 Hybrid fans are much much better than the basic garbo on the Kingpin's radiator. The only explanation I can think of is eVGA figured anyone that would actually use the AIO on the cooler would replace the fans anyway, and a fair bit of the people getting Kingpins are going to LN2 them so what fans are on the radiator doesn't matter anyway. I did figure out they're the same type of fan they used to put on their first-gen CLCs before they changed them to the slightly fancier fans.

My buddy has but he did it in a push-pull set up (using the in-pack EVGA fans for the push side of the intake...dabadger84 will tell you that the radiator should be on exhaust ). Seemed to work fine, but he is not a huge overclocker.

LOL awwww dam.. I totally thought we were getting the same fans as the ftw hybrid. Such a shame tbh. The rgb at least made up for the crappy fan.

Dabadger84 Just an FYI folks, I've seen north of 520W of draw on the stock-LN2 BIOS that has a 520W limit. Saw it peak as high as 535W on the OLED display - which I think is more accurate that HWInfo or GPUz because those only poll once per second and don't pick up spikes. That was with some minor bumps in voltage through Classified Tool & with a pretty hefty OC though. After seeing that the 1000W BIOS apparently sticks your vRAM running at full speed, I don't think I'll be trying that despite it being out there in the wild where you don't have to ask for it & thusly void your warranty just to give it a try. I can say the load balancing of power on these cards is MUCH better than the 3090 FTW3 Hybrid. Maximum draw I've seen from the PCIe slot hasn't even hit 75W yet, some of the 8 pins went slightly over spec during that 535W run, but nothing dangerous (5-10W) considering Vince has ran Kingpins drawing almost 900W EACH and didn't fry an 8-pin. Good luck on the drops today everyone! Edit: Oh, and the stock fans on the radiator are G_A_R_B_A_G_E - gaps on the fan blades are huge, they're way too loud at maximum RPM despite only spinning up to like 2200 - I swapped to EK Vardars today, we shall see how that effects temps, should be nice though.
I ended up on Vardar EVO ER fans as well, I didn't see anything outside the industrial noctuas that had a higher SP but maybe im not looking in the right places (outside the furious meltemi). At least it looks a lot better now.

Yeah that's another thing, the stock fans even LOOK cheap. At least the FTW3 Hybrid fans look semi-decent. I've swapped to Push/Pull after feeling the heat coming out the exhaust side of the GPU radiator during a Port Royal run, just got out of an hour and a half Cyberpunk 2077 gaming session & only got up to 49-50C at 2070-2115MHz @ 1025mV, with peak draw at 458W. And that was with ambient in the 71-73F range.

Does anyone/has anyone used a PCIe Riser Cable before & had a good quality one they could recommend someone else buy? I'm seriously considering vertically mounting my Kingpin purely to have it on display because that copper is amazing & it's a shame it can't be seen more. lol Need one that's PCIe 4.0 compatible for future upgrades.

Everyone is still waiting on the 4.0 ones to be more available. I finally got a email notify for the FTW yesterday but sadly didn't have the money available to buy it. Hoping its not to long before I get the email for the Kingpin I'd rather have. 24G-P5-3987-KR10/11/2020 5:18:31 PM PTYes

Before they shut it down, I had been pretty heavily involved with crunching for SETI (off and on for like 21 years, actually), and about 5-6 years back I had liked what I'd seen with the mining rig setups that had started becoming popular, so I decided that crunching with 5-6 GPUs on a system might be a fun thing to try. I heard horror stories about cheap crappy riser cables toasting GPUs and motherboards, so figured if I wanted to do it, I was going to do it right. I researched a bit, and came up with the ones pictured below. I bought them from Heilind Electronics, and if I recall correctly, they cost about $65-70 each. Which I know sounds crazy, but when you're hanging a bunch of $3-600 video cards off of them, and a $600+ motherboard/CPU/RAM as well, then I thought that it would be cheap insurance. Plus the fact that they were made by 3M didn't hurt, either... Obviously, they are not 4.0 compliant, but looking at them, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't work at that speed. No promises of course, and the 2 larger cables appear to be aluminum coated, pretty good stuff. If you have any questions, let me know. *edit* just wanted to say that I had used them since I got them, and never had one issue related to those cables, they worked flawlessly for me running 24x7 for like 5 or so years. And for giggles, I looked, and they are still on Heilinds site: https://estore.heilind.co...250/MMM7100156064.html and from 3M's site https://www.3m.com/3M/en_...+3290317481&rt=rud

I've been using the thermaltake riser. they have a bunch but im using the premium one. doesnt seem to be having any negative impact on performance. There are cheaper ones out there but i cant vouch for them that said its a 3.0 riser

I had to rma my 3090 kingpin last week for a faulty bios switch. Being sent to EVGA Taiwan as I am in Australia. I enquired about an advance RMA and they advised they cant do the advance rma as they have no kingpins in stock and don't know when as they are a limited run. They do have a replacement bios switch for it thank goodness! To be honest I am happy to get my one back repaired as I am able to get over 15K Port royal score on standard bios. it looks like it is hit and miss with these cards as to the quality of silicone after reading some of the posts on these pages.

I'll give them a look see, thanks for the info & links - I may just pick up a 3.0 one, it might make multiple radiator arrangements eaiser too - right now I can only do the radiator pretty much 1-2 positions, either all the way back to the back of the case, or how I have it now, either way the tubes have to be towards the back of the case, they won't reach far enough to have the tubes towards the front. I think if I vertically mount, that might be possible... not in the configuration I have it now, but with the radiator towards the back of the case. One of the tubes also gets pushed in a tiny bit by the glass in the current configuration seen in the pic. Can't see it in the picture because that side's panel is off (the glass you're seeing is actually the front panel, I have it there to block the intake air from escaping out of the top/bottom gap when the side panel is on, as I noticed that was a thing because of how much air I'm pushing through the front of the case).

Did you move the LN2 bios rom to the LN2 bios switch position though to remove the bios limit AND the hardware limits? Or will we not have to do that this time? :]

I just had my computer put together and have a 3pack Lian Li SL-120 replacing the stock fans but in pull configuration. I plugged it into the motherboard's HAMP header to preserve power for the GPU. The fans are controlled by Fan Control app https://github.com/Rem0o/FanControl.Releases Works well. However, I just ran Port Royal on all stock settings on my 5950X Dark Hero motherboard and only got 13,201

I hope so, but even if I don't get one yet I would love for those ahead of me to get one. :)
