O.k. guys i already have a graphics card. (1080ti sc2 hybrid) and $1000. Im trying to build a gaming computer with a 7700k.  I have never built a computer for myself, but do believe myself to be quite handy around computers. I have had alot of experience helping others with computers, but im not up on what new hardware is good or not. I will try to keep everything updated with pics and stats and such. But need help with suggestions on the parts. Case, memory, motherboard, fans, Aio, drives, etc.      I do also have a corsair 650 watt power supply (not sure if that's enough for a 7700k and a 1080ti though. But definatley looking to get the best gaming performance i can. Any help, suggestions, tips, is all greatly appreciated.

A few things i will say, wanting to put an aio of some sorts on the cpu as the gpu already comes with one. I would like bluetooth and wifi on the motherboard. I probably will only ever run a single graphics card, but the option to sli down the road would be nice. I would prefer 2 m.2 slots but not a requirment.

    Case = Open bench.
    Memory = G.Skill.
    Motherboard = Gigabyte.
    Fans = Delta.
    Aio = Swiftech.
    Drivers = Get your gpu drivers here. Get all your other drivers here.

    Use the evga power meter to figure out if 650w is enough for your system.

    I think I didn't miss anything, and of course, you can make tweaks as you prefer.

    Not sure what happened with your list there. It's showing two mother boards, two cpu's, and two aio cpu coolers for $976.

    Things i need.
    Case + operating system (windows 10 64 bit) + Cpu Aio + CPU + Memory + Motherboard (Wi-Fi and bluetooth capable) + there is probably a couple other things i need im not thinking of right now.

    What i have.
    2 480gb m.2 drives - 1 kingston hyper x 480gb ssd - corsair 650 psu (not sure if this is good enough psu) - 1080 ti Sc2 Hybrid - Acer X34 monitor.

    Like i said before i've never built a personal computer for myself, so not sure if im leaving anything out. Just looking for the best setup to get the most out of the 1080ti and 7700k for gaming.
    So thermals are a big concern. It does not need to be flashy and all rgb.(although i don't mind it sometimes, it just seems more money for no more performance) More focused on performance. Of course i want it to look good, but killing games is the main focus.

    Does that motherboard have wi-fi and bluetooth? I tried looking it up and did'nt seem to find anything. And i guess the follow up question would be: if it doesn't, how easy is it to add those features?
    Next question. Keep in mind im not to up to date on hardware. Will the cpu socket of this motherboard hamper future upgradability since it seems cpus are changing so much here latley....

    if i was to change one thing i would have to nix that case any suggestions in the $80-$100 case that would have good air flow and room for the gpu and cpu rads?

    My bads.
    It doesn't have wi-fi and bluethooth on the Gigabyte MB.
    These would be need to add via a USB port and bought separatly.

    The Asus z270G have it, as dual M.2 as well, for the same price tag ($189,99)
    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132929&cm_re=asus_z270g-_-13-132-929-_-Product

    Also, the i7 7700K will be compatible only with the z170 and z270 platform, the upcoming 8th gen series will be compatible with only the new z370 chipset that will be launched in a few more months (even both beeing lga1151 pin, they will not be compatible).

    The X31 is a very good choice as well.
    There is also the Corsair Carbide 400C: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139080&cm_re=corsair_case-_-11-139-080-_-Product

    Or, you can just pull the trigger and go with an open bench like the Lian-Li: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112287 (Downside about this open bench is that you would need to buy/do a radiator support for it - http://www.lian-li.com/en/dt_portfolio/t60-1/ )

    id go for a 2x8gb kit of ram just for dual channel as some games have seen an improvement with it and its a little cheaper so win win even if the performance gain is not 100% sure in every game https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16820231888 and like the guy above a different case is not a bad idea

    Since i've seen that these processors run hot, i belive i will go with the kraken x62 280. And i also like the Nzxt s340 elite case. Any major flaws with these two items? Aside from the Kraken being a little bit pricey

    Yeah they run quite toasty as Intel's choice to still use thermal compound vs solder is a sad one they have even chose to use on the x299. the cooler and case are just fine. The case is a pretty decent case for 70$. I own a 7700k but if the ryzen 1700 would have been out at the time I'd have been very tempted by it.

    Intel chips on X299 run even hotter. While trying to tweak my CPU overclock, I've see almost 90C. Should have got the 7740x or 7700k.

    Intel chips on X299 run even hotter. While trying to tweak my CPU overclock, I've see almost 90C. Should have got the 7740x or 7700k.

    x.x dang intel lol thats why my 7700k was sent in for a delid as before that my 4.9ghz oc was a volcano and now its very manageable with lower fan speed then before.

    Everything is fine now. 4.5GHz @1.1V and 64C max gaming temps. The GPU tops out around 52-55C @1440p.

    Since i've seen that these processors run hot, i belive i will go with the kraken x62 280. And i also like the Nzxt s340 elite case. Any major flaws with these two items? Aside from the Kraken being a little bit pricey

    About the Kraken X62 280, It will have about the same performance of the EVGA CLC 280 and Corsair H115i. These models all share the same Asetek pump, as stated by Gamer Nexus in his review (The Kraken is one the most beautiful AIO in the looks IMO, for around 20/30 bucks more compared to others 280mm AIO).

    https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/2788-evga-clc-280-review-vs-nzxt-x62-corsair-h115i/page-3

    Also, as other members said, i7 7700K runs hot because of the thermal compoud Intel used on it's IHS.
    I would risk myself and delid it to improve temps.

    Case: Asus Z370-G Box / MB: Asus Z370-G / CPU: Intel I7 8700K / Mem.: 16GB (2x8) 3000Mhz Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 / GPU: GTX 1080TI FTW3 / A.I.O. W.C: EVGA CLC280 / PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 750W

    wow does the EVGA CLC 280 really work that good? Might have to go with that then (trying to keep like parts, evga hybrid gpu why not a evga cpu cooler.  Only reason i was choosing x62 is i know it has good reviews and it is quite pretty. So i could go either way, not too much difference in price.

    Ok, so here's a couple things. Made a few list. One is the parts that i think i narrowed down to wanting to use. The second list is of the current parts i have that can/will be used on the build.
    And then i'll list the remaining parts im very up in the air about.

    So first here is the parts i think i want so far.

    Then i am still very up in the air, just due to lack of research on the rest. Motherboard, any extra fans (looking at the Nzxt rgb air) Not sure if they are good performers though. and still kinda unsure about the memory. And any other small parts or things im forgetting. adapters? cables? thermal paste (although i think it comes pre-installed on the x62)   That being said im quickly realizing im not going to make it under the 1000 dollar mark once i started looking at everything (which is fine, 1000 is what i had already set aside. I don't mind going upwards of about $1400)

    So with the parts listed, and the fact im pretty set on having onboard wi-fi and bluetooth. What is the best gaming motherboard option for $200-$280ish range? I do plan on moving into VR. (after my wallet recovers some from building this system) And what would be the best performing memory. (looks like around the 3200-3400 speed) I do plan on overclocking the cpu, and I have been running my gpu overclocked as well. Being that im running two Aios. (hybrid gpu     and    x62/or evga clc 280) what additional fans would i need for the case and what configuration of the aio's and fans in the case?

    Hmm, only thing missing might be the fans only.
    But that's more up to you for choosing. I think most users would recommend the fans from Noctua, because of performance X noise is very good.

    The thermal past usually comes pre applied in the pump itself on most AIO and air coolers.

    About the motherboards. In a range from 200~280, from Asus, you're going to get on the Maximus model
    Maximus IX ($260): https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2F857B5178&cm_re=asus_z270-_-13-132-926-_-Product

    From Gigabyte, you can find good motherboards for a good price, but none that I saw in my research, have wifi and bluethooth.
    From MSI, I could only find one model, that have a wifi PCI card from Intel (not like Asus, that already have it integrated in the board).
    MSI Gaming M6 ($200): https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA85V5UE3237&cm_re=msi_z270-_-13-144-033-_-Product

    Not all manufacturers put integrated wifi and bt on their boards, unfornutatly.

    3200 to 3400mhz, in overall, should't have much difference in performance for benchmarks and gaming, IF I'm not mistaken. Most of the configs on the 7700k uses 3000 / 3200mhz on memory speed for overclocking around 4.9 / 5ghz on the 7700k.

    Most recommended config for the radiators are the push pull config. For a 120 radiator, you would need 2 120mm fans(one pulling air, and the other one pushing out), and for a 280 radiator, you would need 4 140mm fans for this config.

    If you want to hit 4.9-5ghz on most 7700ks unless you have a better thermal compound under the lid then I did be ready for it to be a valcano or need a delid

    Then should i change up the case then? Seems the x340 elite does not support push/pull config on the 280mm aio. Apparently the cover bar for the motherboard wire passthru is in the way.

    The msi z270 xpower titanium is a good board too. Not into white and black builds tho.
