Hi,
I've been using these settings for my 8700k 5GHz overclock. Tested for over 7 months in daily use (100% CPU video encoding, streaming + gaming etc.) as well as with benchmarks (OCCT, Asus Real Bench). No BSODs, no WHEA errors. The voltage seems to be optimal because i know that when it was at 1.275 i would get whea errors during heavy CPU encoding (but not during stress tests) and bumping it to 1.28 did the job.
Ai Overclock Tuner → XMP → NO
Asus Multicore Enchancement → Disabled
AVX Instruction Core Ration Negative Offset → 0
CPU Ratio → Sync All Cores
Core Ratio Limit → 50
CPU SVID → Disabled
CPU Load Line Calibration → Level 6
Short/Long Duration Power Limit → ~4000 (max)
CPU Core/Cache Current Limit → ~255 (max)
Min/Max CPU Cache Ratio → 42
BLCK Aware Adaptive Voltage → Disabled
CPU Core/Cahce Voltage → Manual → 1.280
So to the point. I'm about to swap fans in my case and wanted to do "before" and "after" comparison. I started up OCCT, ran test, and then i noticed something. While executing the LINPACK test (90% memory, 64 bits, AVX Capable Linpack, Use all Logical Cores), every few minutes (regularly) for some reason the CPU Vcore will drop down out of nowhere from 1.28V to 1.26V. During that CPU stays at 100% usage, the clock stays at 100%
Is this some kind of throttling? Or its just the way this test works (its way too regular for me to be happening randomly).
